Nice hotel, close to town and the National Park.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The rooms were adequate but but exceptional. The hotel was close to town, and we took advantage of the various restaurants and shops. The best experience was the viist to the near-by butterfly center.

Average Motel

Small room with not comfortable bed. Only cold water in the bathroom. We liked the breakfast and hot coffee in the morning. Small swimming pool was okay and we like all the flowers outside.

You get what you pay for

Hotel was a cheap price and that's what we got . Hot water was iintermitant a lot of Hwy noise in the rooms . Staff was friendly spoke decant English breakfast was ok

Bad cancellation policy

Beware: There's another "El Jardin Hotel" in the Monte Verde area (a beautiful place with very nice owners). My rental car agency, "Economy" punched the wrong hotel in our GPS so we didn't make it to La Fortuna and wound up at the same name hotel in the Monte Verde area. I gave the Arenal Jardin Hotel 24 hour notice of what happened and they were unsympathetic. Not even a partial refund. They rebooked the room.

This hotel is a little far from town. If you don't mind getting a taxi each time you go and leave town, it's fine. The bed was not very comfortable. The air conditioning made a clicking noise the entire time it was on. It was very pretty and breakfast was very nice. Other than location the other issues are fixable.

Nos pusieron en las habitaciones más cercanas a donde se servía el desayuno y desde que inician el desayuno no se puede dormir. Pidan que no les den las habitaciones junto a recepción y donde dan los desayunos.

Hotel ausserhalb vom Zentrum

Ein schöner, gepflegter Garten umgibt das Hotel. Direkte Sicht auf den Arenal. Morgens herrscht ohrenbetäubender Lärm von der Strasse her. Zimmer war soweit okey. Mit dem Taxi ist man schnell im Zentrum. Wenn man kein "gallo pinto" mag, hat man beim Frühstück verloren.

Close to shopping

Room was clean, no-frills. No glasses or ice. Breakfast was tasty. From our room, there was highway noise. From the beach where we live, dry and hot, to the mountains where it rained every day and was much cooler, it was a nice break.

Motel on the main road but far away from anything

This is a really basic motel. You get a bed, bathroom, safe, TV and that's about it. The only plug socket we had was in the bathroom above the sink! We were in room 2, which is by the main road. The walls are really thin, so if your unlucky and get rooms 1, 2 or 3 you will be woken up to the sound of heavy goods vehicles at around 5.30am (even with earplugs). We asked If there were any other rooms available and the answer was 'no'. As in, that was the single word response we got. We had a look online though and rooms were available. When we asked about things to do in the area, all we could get was 'I don't know, but these tours we offer are really good...'. The other thing about this motel is that it's really far from anything, so you really need a car to stay here. The town will cost about $5 in taxi, and the national park is $25! Both one way!

Hotel review

Hotel was nice. Albeit the mattress bedding was a bit hard. There was also a few bugs every now and then. Location, very noisy from all the traffic going down in the road. It made it a bit difficult to sleep sometimes. Hotel was close to downtown La Fortuna with taxi about 2500 colones. Nice scenery outside with good view of the volcano. Customer service was excellent. Tasty breakfast provided every morning. They would also help you on booking tours during your stay. Good place to stay overall if you don't mind those tiny details.
