When we arrived, the property had no power and no Wi-Fi. They didn’t tell us anything about the Wi-Fi — I found out myself when I tried to connect and a screen popped up showing they owed over $500 to their provider. On top of that, there was no cell service in the area, and with a storm approaching the next day, it didn’t feel safe to stay. We ended up leaving because there was literally no way to communicate or get any updates.
Even with all that, the hotel still denied our refund request. I can’t imagine a more valid reason for asking for a refund than showing up to a hotel with no basic utilities at all. Easily one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve had with a hotel.
