The location is great and nearby the ferry pier. But the hotel is not in good maintenance at room, the toilet ceiling have a lot of dirty water marks, it looked disgusting. I booked a lakeview room that cost £250 a night, but not worth it, the room is really dilapidated, even they don't have a refrigerator at room, I needed to keep my birthday cake in their restaurant. The room price wss including the breakfast but it was lack of choice, they serve breakfast until 10:30 am, when I ordered scrambling egg with smoked salmon toast, they said no more but I saw other customers have it, I thought smoked salmon and egg are very common foods in a hotel restaurant, I wondered why they can tell me no more stocks. I just can say this hotel not worth for money, they are overpriced. Staffs are not really friendly.

A perfect Windermere Retreat

Our recent two-night stay at the Lakeside Hotel & Spa proved to be the perfect retreat. Situated right on the shores of the stunning Lake Windermere, the location is simply breathtaking. What truly sets this hotel apart is its unique access to both the steam train and boats, offering convenient and scenic journeys to Bowness or a leisurely tour around the lake itself. Our dining experience on the first night was a pleasure. The food was well-cooked, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, adding to the relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast each morning offered a plentiful selection, ensuring a great start to the day. Beyond the beautiful setting and delicious food, the hotel boasts excellent facilities. The games room, swimming pool, gym, and spa provide ample opportunities for relaxation and recreation. Overall, the Lakeside Hotel & Spa offers a truly memorable experience. The combination of its prime location, convenient transport links, friendly service, and excellent amenities makes it a destination I would wholeheartedly recommend and definitely plan to return to.

Not very good value for money.

Disappointed. Room (Lakeview Suite) needed a bit of an upgrade. Bed slanted. Dinner was quite nice. Service was odd. Breakfast was awful and service wasn’t great. Check in and out was just weird as staff were throwing things at each other and mucking about. Car park is public access and we found people taking photos sat on our car bonnet! It’s not cheap at £300 pn. Expected slightly better condition, fridge/minibar would have been good. Windows which open.

Will be perfect when renovations completed.

The communal areas of the hotel are modern and stunning. The bedroom we were initially put in was very shabby and dated. I complained as I'd booked the hotel for a special occasion and thankfully the lady on reception was really lovely and moved us to a new room which was stunning.

Great stay!

Stop over on the way to Scotland. Only sorry we didn’t book longer. Bar staff and dining staff were extremely polite and helpful particularly. Breakfast was good and we were accommodated for nicely with plant based options. Thanks so much can’t wait to come back!

Fantastic location and lovely hotel with great staff, only downsides where the spa pool wasn’t relaxing due to when we used the pool it had kids playing with water guns and splashing around, So wouldn’t say it is a Spa hotel to relax in and treatments where over priced. Plus bar is cashless

Amazing location poor service

Got food poisoning from the tbone pork therefore soent the night with no sleep and throwing up and the waiting staff were arguing with kitchen staff and staff subsequently ended up storming around frustrated.

Lovely Quiet Retreat

Lovely hotel in a great location, just round the west side of the Lake. This made it a lot quieter than most other hotels around the lake. Wish the waiting staff would smile a little more, it makes such a difference

Great hotel! Amazing stay!

Great hotel, amazing stay! We loved the location, just by the lake! Good base either for hiking around Windermere or for exploring the area by car. The hotel, although it could be considered by someone slightly tired, it was spotless clean and always warm, with efficient central heating throughout! The Spa facilities were brilliant. Two areas for improvement, restaurant prices were a bit high, fierce competition in the area and the rowerg in the gym needs some TLC but we overall had a lovely break in Lakeside Hotel and we will certainly be back!

Fabulous Anniversary weekend

Superb stay for our anniversary. Accomadated the dog which was great. Even got ev charging points which only found out aboout at end of stay £25 per day . Would of meant no need to detour to kendal sainsburys on route . Great base for exploring lakes , not in the full hustle bustle of bowness but only a 40 min boat ride away .
