Don’t bother.
I got a call the day I was due to arrive saying I hadn’t paid but I had.
Got there and it was locked doors with combinations which I hadn’t been told. Another guest let us in. Our key was in an envelope on the desk. No staff on site on either day.
No parking available although had been told there would be. Had to park on street.
Room had a nice 4 poster bed. That’s the only good thing I can say. Only 1 bedside lamp, most ceiling bulbs were either missing or not working. Tiny TV so far away from bed couldn’t comfortably watch it.
The shower was awful, controls which were just spinning and head was so clogged up you hardly got wet standing under it.
No lid to toilet cistern so could hear it filling up for ages.
Lots of noise from room next door, no soundproofing, could hear them talking. Had to put a towel against bottom of door to stop the light flooding through from the hallway at night. Mismatched furniture and it’s supposed to be 5 Star?? Stayed on much nicer places for much less. And as for the guaranteed view of either castle or cathedral, a tiny glimpse of a small bit of castle wall doesn’t really cut it.
Great location but wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Interesting Stay
The room and overall facility was comfortable and roomy with a slight quirky feel.
We did not receive an email with the entrance code etc and therefore contrary to the info from Hotels.com did not appreciate there would be no reception. However when we phoned the hotel number we had a quick response and the receptionist from another hotel turned up in a couple of minutes to sort out keys etc. This was an interesting place to stay and the room was great if quirky and not everything worked. However it was vfm and we would consider staying again

Nice hotel
Lovely room with character. Everything self service but clear instructions if staff needed. Little dated but part of character and nice 4 poster. Good location and good price. Would stay again.

Bail House
This is a run down Hotel with few staff that needs many repairs and routine maintainence. The showers hardly run, the rooms pillows and mattresses were not up to the cleanliness stands of a modern Hotel and many fixtures and fittings were in need of repair or replacement. There were no staff in reception during the hours stated in the information we were given and apart from our arrival there we saw no other staff apart from the cleaner. The microwave in the communal area was unhygienically dirty and the bins in the lounge were not emptied in the time we were there
