4 star is most certainly overrated and at least one star too many. The hotel might have been a great property some 25 years ago but is now in need of attention and some maintenance.

Quick Night Stay

A group of 15 men went down and the service and planning of rooms and food was great. They made it so easy to arrange everyone. The food at the restaurant was great and affordable for what we received.

It is breathtaking.

I wish I could have extended my stay. The Winkler is just tops in all respects.i am planning to take my wife there for a longer period.

On our way to KNP

Just stayed the nights as usual on our way into KNP. No problems what so ever. Team at Reception and on the gate most helpful. See you in February 2018

Expensive Winkler

I have stayed at the hotel before when it was under the Protea Banner. It now appears to be under new ownership. I was very unhappy with their rates. I paid nearly double what I paid last year for the same duration in July. If money is immaterial, the hotel is a decent choice. If budget matters I cannot recommend this hotel again.

Good with little bad

Stay was great and the service friendly. Breakfast was awesome One bad think the TV channels did not work properly and in the morning there were no signal Also when we got to the hotel they die not have our booking as done via hotels.com but lucky they had an open room

Fantastic hotel and location to access Kruger

Pity it was just one night. Would have enjoyed a week. Isolated location but fronts a good road to Kruger and Johannesburg . Hotel and grounds lovely. We had a large room with double balcony and views of the swimming pool.

Very peaceful and quiet surroundings, hotel needs some attention. Tennis courts needs fixing, rooms require some extra care as many things were broken or not in the room. Swimming pool needs cleaning

Overnight on route to Kruger

We stayed for one night on our way to Kruger National Park. Staff was very friendly and helpful and the food was very good. Overall a very good hotel.
