Not what I expected AT ALL

We stayed for one night at Sanctuary and while the place was nice on the inside, our room was small and we barely had any light in the room. Our window was facing a brick wall and the toilet in the bathroom ran all night. The customer service at the front desk was deplorable. He was very dismissive. We thought we would be getting free breakfast but apparently we had to notify them the night before. When we checked in no one told us this. They didn’t provide any water or anything in the mini bar in the room. The makeup light in the bathroom wasn’t working. There was also mosquitos flying in the room. We requested for the toilet to be fixed and they said the maintenance guy isn’t here in Saturday’s however they did send someone up (one of the cleaning staff). Needless to say I will not be staying here again. The location is great though! Super close to Times Square.

Unreal location for the price

Really great location... Steps from Times Square and a bike share dock is right across the street. Has a really popular sushi restaurant inside.

Small space, but great stay!

The room was very small (but this may be typical of NYC hotels). Nonetheless, the customer service was top-notch. All the staff are accomodating and welcoming, and I like that the entrance is not on a busy street. Overall, I would stay here again and recommend others to stay as well.

The hotel is located in the heart of the Times Square area, which was great. Check-in was quick and the staff was very nice. The hotel decor is very dark, so you can't really tell if it's clean or not. The elevator floor was not that clean and first impressions are everything. The room was comfortable, but bottled water in the room upon arrival would have been welcomed.

Extremely disappointed

Upon entering hotel I noticed some major renovations going on. Lots of tarps up and some minor noise in the lobby tiny area. Its unfortunate I caught it during this time. Let me say the staff were amazing. Jimmy,Danny,Jose, all class people. The hotel made me sad. My cozy queen was definitely that. Lol. The tiniest room I’ve ever seen. I’m not exaggerating. You’ll bump into things constantly. Tiny table to eat on. No outside view. I got a heavy claustrophobic feeling there. The beds are extremely low to the ground. Kind of odd, but comfortable enough. Breakfast gets dropped off at your door at the time you schedule. Yogurt cup,banana,muffin,OJ or coffee. I scheduled for 9 am & got a police style knock at 7:56 am telling me my breakfast was here. Lol. Why schedule then? $26 resort fee and I have no clue what for. You get zero amenities here. I couldn’t believe it. Haven rooftop was the main reason I stayed here,and I couldn’t have been more disappointed. You get almost no view of the city. The pictures were so deceiving. Half the rooftop was closed for a private event,so I couldn’t even see it all. You must also order food if you want to have a drink. What?? I rated at Fairfield Marriott my first two nights, and leaving this place to JFK I was telling myself o should’ve just stayed there. You live and you learn. Sanctuary Hotel is just it.

so it looks cute, mood lighting, trendy decor. STAFF WAS LOVELY!!! but honestly it’s small and rundown. the photos are extremely deceiving. Rooms are impossibly small. Empty minibar, drawers had previous guests clothing in them. “Lobby” is currently under construction. We could have stayed a week at the Hilton with what we paid for 1 night at sanctuary.

The rooms were very small which is not surprising for Times Square area but the bathroom was so tight it was hard to use. The toilet was in its own room but our door didn’t always stay closed and slide open easily. Getting ready at the mirror was a tight squeeze and you were bumping elbows with the bathroom door and the shower door. The rooms was dark which I think played into the romantic theme but I would have liked the option to have more lighting. Location was great and the vibe was romantic and sexy. Other than the bathroom, it was a cute spot for a couple nights but I wouldn’t want to stay in such a small space for an extended period of time.

Right now there is lots of construction going on in the hotel. When you walk in, there is plastic tarp covering an entire wall. The front staff was great!! The room was nice. However, there was no hot water when we used the sink. Had to wash our face in the shower. The breakfast was not edible, so we only got it once. The aesthetic is very pretty. They adhere to the mask rules. Great location. Pricey fir what you get right now.
