To start, this was my family's very first vacation ever, and we've been one for almost 12 years. The hotel is within walking distance to so much in the North Shore, and Kennywood, Dave and Busters, and Sandcastle are a short drive away. Free breakfast was not bad, but no waffle maker and not as many options as experienced at other hotels. Pool's sufficient, but no hot tub if you're looking forward to one. The room was a little small for four, but still comfortable and clean. Service was accommodating. Now here's the turn-offs.
The hotel is still operating with "Covid" procedures when it comes to housekeeping. After staying for five days, we were told that we had to set-up housekeeping with the staff, which consisted of a person picking up our towels and bedsheets, taking our garbage, and dropping of a literal garbage bag full of clean sheets, towels, and sundries. I wasn't expecting to make our own beds on vacation, especially for $900 and a parking fee, but whatever. I'm used to it as a homemaker. Then came the odd Starbucks scenario. When I called, I was told that there was a Starbucks, which I thought was a great perk. Then we arrive and I'm told that they aren't actually a Starbucks because they don't have the ability to do most of the things Starbucks does. What? Really strange, and even stranger that they keep the "Starbucks" overlapping with the bar stuff. No convenience items or vending machines, and there's no sort of room service, due to..."Covid".
