Well located friendly guest house .Free WiFi and decent breakfast

Lots of stairs, but it’s a historical building, so that can’t be helped. Main floor is on the 2nd floor. Breakfast was on the 4th floor. If my 71 yo mom can handle the stairs, so can you! ;) 15-20 min walk to the castle. 10 min walk to the main bus stop. We got a 24-hr bus pass and used that to make our way around Old Town. We got to Edinburgh around 10am, and Castleview Guest House was happy to hold our luggage until check-in. When we got back there in the afternoon, our luggage was in our room.

Reception was helpful, but the room was above the kitchen and far too hot - even with the Fan provided and the winso w open, plus the Scottish breakfast had run out almost half of the ingredients, even though we were down by 8:30. The location is great and the room was clean though, the final point was the there was an offer to look after the bags for the final day, but there was no one to pass them too other than leave them in the hall for the manager to look after later... which I didn’t take up...

Excellent guest house....lovley breakfast... perfect location....friendly hosts ...great value for money
