Booked room for 3. Was placed in room for 4 that felt like a youth hostel. There was a small sink in bathroom with faucet that extended 3/4 over the bowl. This cause water to splash on the floor whenever you used. Lighting in room was super dim and make it feel very depressing. We all chose to pass on using the shower.

Location is the A plus for this place. Near to the central station, stores and restaurants. The rooms are very old. It is ideal for young people that only need where to sleep and take a shower. Definitely is not recommended for people with movil disabilities, there is not elevator and the stairs are extremely stiff. There is not heater nor air conditioner.

This was a great simple room. I was expecting the hotel to be noisy being in the heart of the Red Light district and yet I had a calm peaceful night's sleep after a fun night out. The shower and bed were great. The staff were courteous and helpful. I recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Amsterdam.

The room was huge! Great view of the canal and red district. The staff was great!!! They are so kind! My booking came with complimentary wine, which was also good. Walkable location. Due to the location, there will be lots of noise until late night. Didn't bother me personally. The bar downstairs is charming.

First things first, the staff I encountered was very nice. The room however leaves little to be desired. I did book a “basic” room because I wanted the separate beds but I still expected that it be clean. I messaged the hotel, and spoke to the guy at the “front desk” (the bar) who said his manager mentioned my concerns and so he took more information- there was absolutely no follow up though. I gave it 24 hrs after checkout to see if the hotel would reach out - they didn’t, so… The walls are dirty, there was a hole in the floor covered by a bottle cap inside and then a stool resting on the cap. When disturbing the stool, the little spiders inside scurry. There’s mold around the mini fridge, and in the bathroom. The hallways are not well lit, the windows in our room did not close all the way, and you have to leave the room key at the bar whenever you leave. I can only speak for the room I booked, but the photos used in the listing do not reflect it’s current condition.

The room was clean the staff very helpful. Just remember you are checking into an extremely old hotel that was not originally designed as a hotel. Expect lots of stairs, funny shaped rooms and unhandy lighting and outlets. Just relax and enjoy the fun, excitement and convenience of being located in the middle of old Amsterdam.
