Situated in the heart of a medieval dreamscape, Hotel Harmony is its own escape. Each room has a unique design. We loved our room's exposed wood beam ceiling, lighting control, comfy bed, espresso and complimentary drinking water, especially appreciated after a night of sampling the Belgian strong ales that flow through these streets. The bathroom was beautiful, with a generously sized tub. However, the shower head was placed on the long side of the tub, which while a strong visual, was somewhat awkward to use.

Nice hotel and location, room was ok

The location and view from our room was fantastic. We were pretty disappointed by the size of the bathtub. My fiance and I are pretty tall (I'm 5'9" and he's 6'2), neither of us were able to fit. Our bed was made up of two twin mattresses together which kept separating throughout the night making a gap in the middle. Turning on and off the lights was not as intuitive as it should be. They were mostly connected to sections, so you would only be able to turn on a section of the room instead of just the one specific light you needed. Because we had a room with a great view on the top floor, the ceiling was very slanted and made the room feel pretty tight quarters. Lastly, the coffee maker in our room was broken. Despite this, it is a nice hotel in a great location. When looking at all of the rooms online, I think we got the runt of the litter.

I really enjoyed my executive river-view room. It was large and roomy and interesting, with an attractive (though non-functioning) fireplace, unusual (but appealing) wallpaper, and a high wooden ceiling. The bathroom was elevated a few steps above the main room. Very nice view of the river and some of the city, including the ancient butcher's hall (plus the very top of the main towers). Had breakfast at the hotel one morning -- it was good. The hotel location is great. Only a few minutes walk from all the great sights in the atmospheric city center. Good, strong WiFi. Very happy with my stay and Ghent in general.

Hotel was great. Getting there with my car was not easy: in the end I just asked a taxi to lead us there. Only Waze - I was told - has all the updates in road closures and last minute one-ways. Like any free app, Waze did not want to work for me in Europe till our last day there.

Excellent location near restaurants and center of town, overlooking picturesque canal. Modern and attractive facility. Very helpful and friendly staff that made suggestions and reservations for us. Breakfast was excellent. Only modest negative is car parking, which is mostly a very cramped underground garage. We had a large car, but even a small one has to carefully turn forward and backwards many times to drive in or out. But overall highly recommended.

great location but

We had a very large room right on the the river. They really tried hard to make it modern yet old with exposed 400 year old beams. The problem was the floor creaked above us when people walked. Also some of the light fixtures were not very safe. Hot water in sink didn't work. The room we had was 111 make sure you don't get that one. also stairs to walk into the bathroom big safety issue for older people
