Fes was an incredible city but our experience there would not have been the same had we not stayed at Riad Fes Baraka. The kind, hard working people who make Baraka tick - Samir, Turia, Samira, Siad and the rest of the staff - do such a wonderful job of making you feel comfortable, welcome, safe, cared for and care free. All within the walls of a gorgeous, traditional riad in the heart of Fes.
Samir and Turia are always around to answer questions, grab you train tickets, set you up with any service you need, have a tea with you, arrange dinner or give you advice. Samir upgraded our room because it was available and because he wanted us to feel more comfortable, all before arranging a great guide for us, booking us hammam appointments and making sure we were lined up for a cooking demonstration.
The food is some of the best food I've ever had. We ate dinner at the riad all three nights we stayed and have yet to have anything in Morocco that compares. Samira is an incredible chef, preparing dishes as if she was feeding her family. We cooked with her in the kitchen one evening and got to observe some of her techniques. An experience I will never forget.
A few random notes/tips: the beds were incredibly comfortable, the pool is a great retreat in summer, swing for a larger room with a bathroom (the suites are totally worth it!), have Samir book you with a guide for your first day in the medina, and book the hammam (it's private, personal and lovely.)
