The hotel is old and by nature creaky. Gives it much character at the cost of less IT. Seems acceptable given the price paid for the room. Location is convenient at the centre of town.

Too noisy. Walls thick as cardboard do not provide adequate sound insulation to at least get some sleep when you can clearly hear the footsteps in the corridor and the room surrounding you. The problem is made more apparent when you can hear everything happening on the street as well with the windows closed. Had better stays in an AirBnB than this "3 start" accommodation. Either the description needs to be properly listed as "do not expect comfort sleep" or the price of the room I stayed in should match of the closest hostel. The restaurant food was decent though.

What a let down

On arrival the recepion staff or we were not sure if he was the manager was very helpful and pleasent so no problem there. Our room was very dark, dingy and hot although a fan had been provided. The beds both sloped so it was impossible to get a good nights sleep, i know it is an old building but feel something could have been done to make the beds level. We ate in the hotel that night we had booked a table beforehand but the waitress didnt seem to know which table to put us on and then gave us a smaller menu which is the menu you would have if you had booked bed breakfast and evening meal. There was not much choice on that menu for me as i am vegetarian, we didnt find out until we had ordered that we had been given the wrong menu. When the food came my food was inedible so complained about it, i was asked if i wanted something else so i had breaded mushrooms which turned out to be over cooked so in all i didnt have much to eat that night. The manager didnt charge for my meal which was good as i couldnt eat it. Breakfast was nice nothing wrong there. We had booked to stay for 2 nights b&b but left after the first night . Huntingdon is a lovely town so we would go there again but i wouldnt stay in the george hotel unless it was given a good make over.

Excellent town centre location with a high quality varied menu, always fresh and delicious. Outstanding and friendly service from staff. Mobile reception was adequate for those of us who prefer not to use hotel WiFi.

Needs some tlc

Hotel situted in centre of Huntingdon. Free parking on site. Very old building but needs some tlc inside. We stayed in thd Shakespeare suite which was classed as a superior room Room was large with a four poster bed Room was fairly clean but needs some updating with new curtains and cleaning the window frames would help Shower had very little presure so hair wash was out the question. 1 bottle of shower gel/ shampoo all in 1 supplied . Breakfast was good with choice of hot food to order and help yourself cerials and juices . All in all hotel was ok but room was not what i woild class as superior
