I loved my stay at Sollagos. Yes, the whole facility may have been there for decades, but it is being kept renovated and very clean. The upper-floor apartment had a well-equipped kitchen, a big and comfortable bed, a perfectly working wi-fi and a balcony facing a quiet street. A heater and blankets were also provided, as even in May it can get really cold indoors during the night.
The location is unbeatable: it's a 10 mins walk to the old town or to the beach. The nearest Spar supermarket is just 5 mins away, but it is quite expensive. There are a few breakfast cafes near that store.
The reception staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. On check-in they left the key for me in an envelope with super-detailed instructions. I had asked for a parking spot and got a key to a small, gated parking lot.
Two things to be aware of:
- A huge new building is being constructed on the neighboring plot of land, which could cause some noise. During my stay it wasn't too loud, though.
- There is no washing machine in the apartment. A public laundrette is available at the end of the street, 3 mins walk. There are two 10kg washing machines, one wash costs 5 Euro. They even have an app to check if the machines are free and to reserve one.
I would happily return to Sollagos any time!
