There are several small guesthouses in the area, but what makes this one special is the house manager, Carlo! I have a pet, so pickings were slim. The rooms are basic, very clean, and the perfect location to explore. Within walking distance to Zocalo, Arcos de Xolchomilco, and the local park El Llano park where every morning you can join the locals on a Tai-Chi class or Zumba. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable for a 2 star. Rooms towards the back have great lighting and are large and inviting.
There is a public kitchen which is super convenient. I felt very safe!! It can be noisy at night due to an upstairs restaurant/bar, but they close at midnight so manageable. A special thank you to Carlo, who made me feel at home, checked in daily to see if I needed anything, and shared tips & suggestions for travel. Carlo is 5 stars!! and the reason I booked a return visit
