Booked through Hotels.com and chose pay at hotel. Hotel decided to charge my card BEFORE I got there, not tell me, and charge me again.
Poor hygiene: dust from AC on bed and huge dark stains on towels went unnoticed.
Majority of rooms have connecting doors but this is not mentioned or made clear in photos or in description. This can be a threat to your safety like it was to mine when two people barged into my room!! Rang down to reception and had no sympathy at all, and when i rang down a second time had the phone put down.
This false advertising is both dangerous and illegal but when I have approached Hotels.com, Holiday Inn's customer service and the hotel about updating this I have been told I have had a refund. I have had to go to Holiday Inn's parent company IHG to ask for a change to be made and will be taking this to the ombudsman.
It was also like pulling teeth to get a refund. At first I wasnt offered a refund, then the equivalent of one free night in points (when I stayed for two!), then 50% and then full when I called the hotel back. I was told the reason I wasn't offered a refund in the first place was because I had a positive experience....
