Beautiful but you’ll need to pay lots of tips
We stayed here for 6 nights over the Christmas period. We booked a Privilege Package. Overall the resort is beautiful, our room was great and clean which I appreciated. We never had to fight for a chair at the pool or beach which was great - there was room for everyone.
However, if you stay here expect to be constantly forking out additional cash. As soon as you arrive you have to pay an additional eco tax when you check in, then a reef tax if you want to do anything on the ocean and then the $50 resort credit you get when booking through this website can only be used on certain things and only to certain amounts and they only tell you that when you check out (at check in you’ll be told the credit can be used for any resort expense, just like cash). For example they would only let me use a max of $10 resort credit on a $185 spa appointment.
The staff only work for tips! We missed tipping housekeeping one day because they came way earlier than other days and the job they did was barely acceptable. During that clean they took our room service bags outside the room and left them there. The raccoons then got into them and NO one cleaned it up for 3 days! Even though housekeeping was around and there was maintenance work going on in that area during the day. The staff works tips and if they weren’t going to get one to clean up the mess they precipitated then they were not interested in the work.
