The check-in process was easy and quick and the reception personnel was highly helpful (Mr. Bashar). The room given to me was on the 1st floor, which was not convenient for my family since the windows were not reflective from outside and you could be easily seen from the pool side. I asked for a room change and the reception was very accommodating and moved me to a higher room on fourth floor immediately. However the room was not ready or cleaned properly before it was given to me. The bed duvets were smelly and had yellow spots, the floor was dusty. This was fixed after i informed the room services to do the required and clean the room. The food buffet at Samba was good however the space was small for such a large resort. Swimming pool was great with the lazy river and lots of games and activities. The hotel has a good football playing area. The hotel also offers internal tours to the car museum and the Frankincense Garden. I would greatly recommend the Frankincense tour with Mr. Khaled Al Ameri, who is great tour guide and makes the tour really enjoyable. Overall, the resort is nice and good place to spend some relaxing time with the Family, but i would say value for money could be enhanced and make it better, especially when comparing to other Shangri-La resorts.
