I have rarely been so disappointed after any holiday than after our stay at the Rodos Palladium. We had high expectations due to the high price, but the hotel turned out to be a let down. It is certainly not a five-star hotel, but more like three-star according to northern European standards. This hotel is a time-trip to the 1980's, nothing has been updated since then! The bed was so hard that we had to ask them to put an extra top-mattress on it and still we had back and shoulder pain. The gym was a joke, really tiny with old, broken equipment. The hotel has really loud music late at night, every night, so it was impossible to sleep. We came there to relax and recover from a really hard year, but left feeling exhausted.
The worst for us was still the hotel's inability to deal with food allergies. This caused a lot of stress and we lost a lot of time since we had to eat elsewhere. There was a real no can do mentality at the hotel. They were not even able to make a gluten-free sandwich for lunch! Everything at this hotel is standardized for the Germans who travel with the big tour operators. If you are an independent traveller from another country they don't care about you at all. We spoke to a manager about our problems during our stay, but he didn't care. Offered nothing to us.
If you are German, don't have any food allergies or restrictions and don't need much sleep, this hotel might be for you. Otherwise don't bother.
