We stayed for 3 nights during the hot weather in July. On arrival into our room there was an empty wine bottle and there was still dirt on the carpet that hadn’t been hoovered. Being on the top floor the room was extremely warm. There were workmen on the roof that made extremely loud noises and we were not told at the time of booking or checking in that work was being carried out so it was very noisy. During our 3 night stay it appeared that the corridor had never been hoovered as the same few pieces of rubbish lay throughout our stay wilthout being cleaned.

We booked in for 2 nights to the hotel and we were welcomed with an exceptional lady on the front desk with an english accent, she was so friendly. The staff in the restraunt were inexperienced and in fairness to them their was no real leader among them to motivate them. Our plates were not collected off our table for about 45 minutes after eating. They had no idea of the menu and once again its a management problem since theyre is no real leader to help them out. The beds were horrible and so uncomfortable plus the door to the rooms are so outdated that it frightens me that this hotel has undergone a recent refurbishment. The wifi was non existent and their was no signal to even use our own internet on our phones. The food was cold when it came out in the bar, we didnt bother complaining because by judging recent reviews it would have fallen on deaf ears. The staff arw friendly just need a real leader, would not stay again. Once again qould like to praise the lady on the front desk with the english accent (a credit to herself)

I would never stay again, very upsetting and I was very sick after. 2 hours waiting for dinner, we were asked 4 times by different staff what we ordered again, 1/2 of mine never arrived in the ended, there was lip and finger prints on our glasses (which is very bad in these times). Ordered a gluten free breakfast as I’m unable to eat gluten, my partner was told the coffee machine wasn’t turned on (this was at 9am on a Sunday) so he was told he could only have instant coffee, my toast arrived after ordering and 50 minutes later breakfast came, she placed down one bf and said this is the gluten free one and left. After 2/3 bits I registered that it didn’t taste rights I had to leave to go to the toilet. Turns out after calling the manager the breakfasts given too me contained gluten, the manager got worried and offered to send bottle of wine to the room which we refused as wouldn't help so he the just said ok leave it with me I’ll get back to you n walked away, never got back to us. We left the hotel for dinner and breakfast and went to maddens in town which was fab. On departing the hotel my partner asked for the manager, it was a different man, after explaining what was upsetting us he asked “why I ate some of the breakfast?” I was told it was gluten free. He Offered us a free stay or voucher which we refused, he offered the dinner free, we ended up paying for a breakfast that made me sick (didn’t go for bf second morning even thou it was paid for) and 2 nights stay.

Nice place but poor service overall. Lukewarm water in shower, low quality food and poorly run bar area. 4 star rating is very generous

Nice hotel although a little dated. Clean rooms with big comfy beds for a great nights sleep. Bathroom spotless but needs updating. Bottom floor has little to no phone signal and very poor wifi. First weekend back open we expected high quality service and unfortunately this was not the case. Staff were very unsure and came across as having little to no trainimg. They were quite young having worked until 11 sat night and were back on for breakfast sunday morning first thing. Any questions we had about bar and breakfast service were met with empty stares shrugs of shoulders and i dont knows. Very unprofessional and poor service especially when handing over alot of money for our stay. Monday morning breakfast service was much better and more professionally run. The bar was almost completely out of drink by our second night stay. Ran out of most lagers on tap, mixers and minerals and by the time we were leaving monday the manager was overheard ordering in cans off minerals from tesco for the night with very little else to offer. Bar staff all over the place no guidance of last orders at closing time which caused an unsettling dispute between customers and staff. The hotel was absolutely not prepared for their reopening. We didnt use the leisure centre so cannot comment

Very well managed during covid restrictions. Staff excellent..very friendly, attentive and always aware of being socially distant but still give great service. Well done

Lovely staff from check in and gym to bar and restaurant a lovely team of people especially Min our waitress. Great gym facility and massage. Bed was so comfortable and a huge room. Interior slightly out dated but on the whole a very enjoyable stay.
