La estancia fue excelente! El proceso para realizar el check in fue bastante tardado 1 hora esperando y en la habitación hay un aparato en la parte de arriba con luz verde que no deja descansar. Respecto al trato del personal, las chicas del spa en recepción con actitud poco amble y las chicas y chico que te dan las instrucciones de la hidroterapia muy serviciales. La hidroterapia la recomiendo 100% Algunos meseros de los restaurantes igual con actitud poco servicial. Gilberto Hernández del Mariachi Grill, Barcelo Maya Colonial fue excelente

La verdad todos los empleados son súper nefastos tratan horrible a todos, nunca sonríen y nunca tienen disposición de ayuda, el de la recepción nefastisimo los meseros hartos y cansados las del room service nefastas todos todos los 3 días que estuvimos ahí no tuvimos ningún trato amable y eso que hemos Ido muchas veces a ese hotel y está en decadencia sus instalaciones no están tan mal pero su servicio es pésimo

We had a great experience at the Barcelo Colonial. We went 14 years ago and we are so glad we went back. The resort is extremely clean. We had amazing service from all the staff. They went above and beyond. The food was great and the a la carte restaurant were very good as well. The beach was clean and beautiful. The resort has a really good night club, shopping mall area and the sports bar was really nice too. Drinks were really good too. I have no complaints at ALL and we will definitely be back. This resort is 10/10 and I will recommend it to everyone.

We had a wonderful stay at Barcelo Maya Colonial. Great family vacation! Our 4 and 6 year old kids had a blast at the water parks, pools, and ocean! Highly recommend for a family vacation, food was great, the shows were very entertaining, and the Colonial is centrally located to access all the hotels and attractions. We hope to plan another trip there in the future!

It's just okay here. The food was the worst part for sure. The a la carte spots (Kyoto and Marenostrum) are not worth the reservation. The buffets have some good bits in them, but all pork and beef meals were so overcooked. Anything with a tortilla was hard as rock and I could barely bite through. All mixed drinks are meh. If you just want to get drunk, you'll be fine. If you want something delicious to sip on the beach, that won't happen. The rooms are totally fine. Downside is that they are not well enough sound proofed. Could hear our neighbour speaking as if he was in our room. Children wildin' out at midnight for some reason, and their parents laughing loudly. The way the hotel is shaped makes everything echo in the hallways. Pools are gross. Not the staff's fault at all!! You can plainly see all staff work so hard, but tourists are annoying. Limes and other mystery stuff floating in the pools. Along with so much beach sand at the bottom. But the pools are empty after dinner. An evening swim was wonderful. Very safe to leave your belongings at the chairs or hammocks. Not enough shade around the pool, for me personally. The beaches were the best part. The ocean is so warm! The birds arent annoying like Canadian seagulls. They are just hanging out and catching fish. Plenty of shade at the beach with the palm trees. The beach is also dead 4pm onwards. It's also nice and windy, you won't overheat.

The restaurant dining in the evenings instead of the buffet was fantastic and we also enjoyed all the evening shows. The pool was the nicest and largest resort pool I have ever seen.

The hotel was beautiful. The food was ok. We really enjoyed our meal at the steakhouse. At one point during our stay, we sat on the backside of our room with the sliding door a bit cracked. Apparently this wasn’t allowed. The housekeeper called who knows “security”. He entered our room, passed my sister as she sat on the couch to slam the sliding door. Neither individual bother to ask us to just close the slider, due to the heat. This was unprofessional and I reported it to the front desk.
Pipe burst in room. Water running from shower wall, sink, bathroom wall near the shower. We had to call for assistance numerous times. We used all our towels. Of course, housekeeping left no towels (even after we called for replacements

The property is pretty clean. The pools are somewhat clean. Great location, beach, vegetation and landscaping. However, they are too slow on removing see weeds. Could get some better machinery to collect see weeds faster and better do it during night time, not when everyone is at the beach. They stopped doing dolphin shows because those were free. But kept the dolphins for paid activities.
