Very nice breakfast. Front desk kept items i had left behind then lost them.

We arrived late at night and the man at reception spoke the bare minimum to us, no welcome, no explanation of wifi/breakfast - bluntly asked for my credit card for deposit/hold without saying how much it was (240euro!). The room was a decent size, beds were very soft, almost too much so, there was a big silverfish bug in our bath when we arrived. Location of the hotel was quite nice, there is a metro entrance outside. Free wifi is limited - then you need to pay for additional data. I think the price/quality was ok.

Room size is too small. Toilet doesn’t has possibility for hand wash. Poor menu in breakfast for vegetarians.

Wir kennen das Novotel von früheren Aufenthalten in Düsseldorf und Hannover und waren bisher immer zufrieden. Leider war das bei unserem Besuch im Hamburger City Alster nicht der Fall. Gut waren Check-in und Check-out, aber dazwischen war es wirklich nicht dem Standard entsprechend. Obwohl wir erst um etwa 19:00 Uhr anreisten, war das Zimmer nicht sauber: Haare im Wachbecken, Kaffeeflecken auf der Anrichte, und das Bett war auch nicht so nett gemacht wie wir es von Novotel gewohnt waren. Im Restaurant hatten wir zunächst ein Wasser bestellt, nach etwa 20 Minuten Wartezeit habe wir dann Essen und weiter Getränke bestellen „dürfen“, das Wasser kam aber immer noch nicht. Bei der Bestellung wurde uns dann mitgeteilt, dass es von dem an sich schon übersichtlichen Menü nun auch keine Pizza mehr gäbe. Gut, wir bestellten etwas anderes. Nach weiteren 15 Minuten warten, ohne dass irgendetwas gebracht wurde (nicht die Getränke und auch nicht das Wasser auf das wir inzwischen mehr als eine halbe Stunde gewartet hatten), stornierten wir die komplette Bestellung und gingen in einem Restaurant in der Nähe essen. Nach unserer Rückkehr hat meine Frau um etwa 23:00 Uhr bei Housekeeping nach einer Duschhaube gefragt und würde am Telefon sehr unfreundlich behandelt, und eine Duschhaube gab es auch nicht. Insgesamt, war das ein sehr enttäuschender Besuch.

Close to U Bahn station, nice quiet rooms, good breakfast selection

Spent a week here on holidays & we found the hotel easily & there is an entrance to the underground just about 25 meters from the front door. We found the staff very friendly & helpful. They all spoke good english, this was a bonus for us. We were impressed with the bright clean room but it had two single beds, on the second day we enquired if we could get a double room & this was sorted quickly. We found the bar tenders friendly & were good to crack a joke or two. We had room only so cannot comment on the breakfast. This was too expensive for us but there was a Rewe store a short distance away so we were sorted. We loved our stay here, the bed was comfortable & the shower was great & will return again in the future. Thanks to all your hotel staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

Good location to explore Hamburg with the U-Bahn right outside. We paid E12 for w ticket which did all of us for the day. Room was nice although a bit tight for 4. Breakfast was excellent - good choices and very nice coffee. We didn't use the bar area but it looked nice. Parking was E18 so we parked on the street at the side for free. Overall very happy.

Overall stay was very good. Direct access to the train system. Get breakfast at a local baeckerei as this is much better and cheaper than the hotels.
