Hermoso hotel, pero con algunas mejoras pendientes

Estuvimos hospedados del 3 al 8 de agosto de 2025, en la habitación 1812, un día amanecí con ronchas en la espalda, brazos y piernas, la única explicación que se me ocurre es que haya chinches en la cama, le pregunté a la camarera y me dijo que cambian las sábanas todos los días, sin embargo, las chinches suelen esconderse en pequeños huecos de la cama. Espero que con este comentario contraten profesionales para eliminar cualquier plaga y que más personas no se vean afectadas. El hotel es muy bonito, las habitaciones amplias, el clima en las habitaciones funciona muy bien. Las albercas muy grandes y limpias. El hotel está rodeado de vegetación y tiene unos jardines muy hermosos. La playa es pequeña y honda, hay muchos botes estacionados en el mar. El buffet no está rico, les hace falta un buen chef que de sabor a los guisos, las verduras están recocidas, el arroz crudo, la barra de ensalada con poca selección de verduras y aderezos, definitivamente le falta cariño a ese buffet. El clima en el restaurante del bufet no se da a basto, afortunadamente encontramos una mesa donde pegaba directo una de las rejillas y procurabamos sentarnos siempre ahí. Espero que le den mantenimiento o cambien sus equipos de aire acondicionado del buffet.

The front desk staff was extremely unprofessional during check in. Instead of helping our group fix our reservations they made us call customer service, prolonging our check-in process three hours. They did not help or even offer water while we fixed our reservation even though customer service stated that front desk had the ability to fix the issue. This resort is not good for big groups. We had a party of 13, made dinner reservations and only once did they seat us together. Additionally, this is the first all inclusive

Muy bonito el hotel, excelente la habitación que nos dieron, buena conida y amenidades, las albercas tmb excelentes, no me gusto la playa y que esta demasiado alejado de la ciudad, es excelente para las personas que gustan solo de alejarse del bullicio😀

Barceló is a beautiful property but can improve on the food quality. Also the “snack bar” restaurant by the pool took forever to get your food from menu.

Puede mejorar

Olvide algo en mi cuarto pero tardaron mucho en dar respuesta por lo cual me tuve que retirar, si no, perdía mi vuelo. La comida era de calidad media y había muy poca variedad.

This was unfortunately a one and done for me. The property was beautiful. The rooms were OK even with the VIP, was not impressed. I had such high hopes for this property, but it just seems like they fell short in every angle. We made dinner reservations and according to the concierge, if children were 12 and under, they did not have to follow the dress code. We went to the Italian restaurant and checked in and they told us they could not serve us due to my son whom is 12 was not dress ed proper. Even after telling the woman he was 12 years old, she continued to refuse.After some time, they finally served us (now mind you, we were the only family inside the restaurant at thetime and by the time we left, there was only one other family inside). The next day I went back to the concierge who helped make dinner reservations for the week and again asked her about the rules for children and dress code. Again, she told me 12 years and younger did not have to follow the dress code. I then questioned her why my family and I were turned away the prior night due to my son not be dressed properly when he was 12. She then asked if he was tall. I said yes, but that has nothing to do with his age. She proceeded to tell me that’s why I was refused and I argued back that he cannot help his genetics. He’s 12! I was not impressed with the food at the resort. I actually lost weight during the week lol. No poolside food. The staff that did pool activities were engaging. Overall, look else where.

Save yourself and stay somewhere else. During rainy season you will get eaten alive by the mosquitos. There is nothing to do at the hotel. The pool closes at 8, the nightly show is at 9 and after that there’s nothing else to do. We went into town a few time but even in town the markets closed at 6. Were the type of people that like to walk around at night once the heat is more bearable so this really wasn’t for us. The food was terrible. They called it “authentic” but I don’t know many people who have chicken noodle soup for breakfast. The food would often run out and not be replaced. The stuff that didn’t run out would be crusty from sitting under the heat lamps for so long. If you’re looking to just grab a bite and take it to the pool or your room good luck to you. They police that and don’t let you eat anywhere besides the buffet or the snack bar. The food at the snack bar was much more edible than the buffet. I understand them wanting to be authentic but I feel, as an all inclusive resort, you should be catering to everyone. Most people we spoke to around the resort felt the same way we did. The staff would walk around looking like you were bothering them. I can count on one hand the amount of friendly staff that we encountered during our 10 night stay. The rooms were big and spacious. Each one offered a great ocean view so that was really nice. If you’re a senior who likes to eat & go to bed this might be the place for you otherwise save yourself & stay elsewhere
