Night staff really rude: One guy answered the bell when I needed to reactivate my door key (which twice deactivated by itself with no reason), I said hello, he didn't even reply, he acted like he was annoyed that I woke him up, he reactivated my card, left it on the counter without saying a word, I had to ask him if the card has been reactivated for which he reply a very annoyed "yes" and "you pull the door toward you and swipe the card". I said thank you and once again he didn't reply. Another night, my card needed reactivation again, I rang the bell, the same dude opened the door, I said hi, he didn't reply, acting annoyed again, I even apologized explaining that I work until late at night and when I come back my card is deactivated, I have no other choice than ring the bell. He didn't even acknowledge what I said, he proceeded reactivating it, I took the card, proceeded toward the exit door which would not open. I stood at the entrance stuck with no way out, I turned toward him, asked him for help because the door is not opening for me to exit the lobby, He is still behind his counter, gesturing to me where to move for the door to open, I did move but the lobby door was still not opening. He finally comes toward me and wave very rudely for me to get out of his way, he then tried to open the lobby door but the door would not open, and he says to me "what did you do" as if It was my fault, he opens the door and I exit. Very rude attitude. I will never stay there again.

We always stay at the Quality Inn when we come to Merritt because we always find the rooms to be top notch. But this time we stayed in a room suppose to be smoke free and it smelled of stale smoke. I never get headaches but had one every night from the smell. It was so bad even spraying with Lysol didn’t help. We will stay there again but we will make sure we can check out the room first.

It's a nice and quiet location. Room was fairly clean, out dated, slight odour, large and had everything I needed and expected for a very reasonable price. The hot tub unfortunately was not hot so that was disappointing. Has a nice indoor pool which was abit too cool for me to swim in, odd considering it is indoor. I can only guess the heater was not working for either amenity. The "free" breakfast was in a bag, normal now with Covid. You can't easily walk to anything like eateries or stores. Like all older motels, this one could use some serious updating but of course then the price would go up substantially. Would stay again.
