Hotel needs maintenance and a good cleaning. The tile floor was unbelievably sticky. The room smelled awful. Breakfast was a typical cheap hotel breakfast. Location was not bad.

Please, Please, Please STOP using FABULOSO floor cleaner. It is Toxic and the smell gives headaches and sore throats to people who are sensitive. I would think a hotel with guests using the N. Mayo Clinic would be more sensitive than most to especially strong, lingering odors. The first rooms (303 & 305--my parents in one and my sister and me in another) smelled so terribly of cig smoke we asked for other rooms. The Front Desk person was so very kind and accommodating, gave us two new rooms on the 2nd floor, which were much better, altho one did have the Fabuloso lingering smell, so we could not keep the door open between the two rooms. The entrance/lobby floors & elevator were in need of deep cleaning and repairs, as were the chairs in the dining area. Room was perfectly clean and as pictured. I would give this place a 2.5-3 rating.

Not what we paid for

I booked a room with two queen beds on hotels.com. When I got there was told there were no rooms available with two queen beds and we would get a room with one queen bed. Also, the TV did not work. They put new batteries in the remote and the TV still did not work so we got a room with one queen bed and no TV.😡

The room was clean and comfortable. It was the handicap room. The breakfast was very good. One obstacle was no night light for guests to get to the bathroom at night. I mentioned this to desk in a.m. Not safe as room was very dark.

Needs Remodeling

This property is old and wearing out. The flooring in the elevator has worn through to the plywood subfloor. Even the buttons on the TV remote are worn out. They must have installed new ceramic flooring in the bathroom over the existing stuff because it has buckled, and the bathroom door cannot be closed. The seal on the window of my room is falling. Time for a remodel,

AC loud, bathroom light did not work well had to go down to get new key. The first key did not work on the door. The bed was comfortable. The sheets were clean and it was a quiet room.

Kind woman on Sunday, July 13th when we checked out. Your beds should be upgraded, though. Feel bad for all the Mayo patients who must stay with you and need a higher quality bed to help in their recovery. Thank you!

Wanted to go elsewhere

Getting in and registering made difficult by a very large contingent of African people unhappy with their rooms and clogging up the entryway, lobby and eating area. Staff member at desk in tears. This colored the whole visit, but there were also 3 things in the bathroom that were not difficult to fix. Will not stay there again
