Our overall experience was great. The staff were lovely, the food great, the rooms comfortable, and the setting fantastic. The location is great as a base for the area.
We got very lucky with the weather and enjoyed sitting at the front of the hotel, taking in the sun and watching the surfers / zip-liners etc in the water sports lake.
Special thanks to Thanos at the bar and Katy at the spa - they were terrific. The cleaners were also great and efficient and the reception staff were lovely.
So who only good, not great?
Very much a "first world problems" / entitled view, but some things that you would just expect to happen didn't, when it came to service:
1. They didn't offer breakfast to your room which we fancied having arrived very late on the first night;
2. One evening, we asked if we could eat outside, just a few steps from the restaurant - they couldn't accommodate this as they didn't have enough staff to cover that area;
3. My wife tried to order a coffee at about 11.20am and was told "we don't serve hot drinks until midday" - she got the coffee in the end but had to point out respectfully that people do like their coffee in the morning!
4. Also the bed was a bit hard and gave us both backache.
It was still a great holiday, but we deliberately chose a Hilton for the service, over something local with more character / local charm, so these small points did let it down a little bit.
Still very grateful and would go again. Hope they get more staff thought!
