Great location, needs maintenance

Great location for easy access to Hobart and merriville. Unfortunately the room was in need of repair, toilet was leaking from the base and created puddles under the floor and leaked up into the front of the toilet. The shower head was hanging off the wall and the microwave was out of date. The floor was dirty. Although the beds were comfortable, it was noisy all night with the air conditioner and people talking/yelling/arguing almost all night. We had trouble with the door lock and had to have our key reprogrammed several times. Staff wasn’t even able to get into the room at the end of our stay to check our complaints.

I recently stayed at Red Roof and unfortunately, my experience wasn’t great. The NFC lock system was frustratingly unreliable—getting into my room was more of a hassle than it should’ve been. Additionally, the bathtub’s water flow was poor, which made taking a relaxing bath impossible. For a hotel that should prioritize comfort and convenience, these issues were disappointing. I hope they address these problems soon, as the location and staff were otherwise fine.

Front desk service was excellent. Room had broken, damaged furniture, flooring was broken, missing pieces. Most uncomfortable mattress in any motel I’ve been to. Found a prior guest wash cloth in the shower. Room was dirty. Other guests were very noisy all night. Will never stay there again.

All the grounds around the building had dog poop everywhere. I was issued a room that they couldn't get unlocked gave me another room that had not been cleaned and then moved me to the 3rd room on second floor that was good how ever the trash was piled up along the stairs overflowing cans and bags of trash on both floors

My husband and I thought a night away from home would be nice so I booked online. When I arrived I waited over 30 minutes before someone came to the front desk. The check in was smooth, however, the room was ATROCIOUS. The sink still had toothpaste on the knobs, the tub had dirt rings around it, the toilet seat was not attached, the refrigerator had hair in it and the ice was so thick that it couldn’t close properly. They had no toiletries, except a used roll of tissue, and the door looks as if someone had broken into it at some point and the didn’t fix it right, as I was able to see straight through the hinges. The only positive thing I can say about this location is that it was quiet and the sheets/pillows were clean. I definitely won’t be back.

First the pros: Staff was very friendly and tried their best to help with problems, the ice machine was super at spitting out a large quantity of ice, the HVAC was decent, sink and toilet were clean, bedding was clean. The cons: A lot of loud people out in the parking lot until 2 am, refrigerator and microwave were extremely dirty, floor looked like it hadn't been swept, TV screen and mirrors had a dirty film on them, there were no towels in the room I had to ask for them, TV remote didn't work had to ask for a new one, telephone in room had no handset cord or cord to the wall really not sure why it was even there, the building itself seemed really old and dilapidated. Supposed to be a smoke free room, but it smelled like smoke. My stay for only for 2 nights, I would not recommend for a longer stay.

I do wish that I had read reviews of this hotel before booking it. I have stayed at several Red Roof Inns and was always satisfied until this one. The hotel is badly in need of maintenance and repair, and it was not clean. The supplies were minimal. We had to go ask for a roll of toilet paper because the one on the dispenser was nearly gone and there was no extra one. One of the double beds had broken springs on one side. The essentials were there: The TV worked, there was hot water, and there was heat. But I won't even say it was tolerable at the price because we stayed in another Red Roof in Deerfield, IL the following night and that one was cheaper and in excellent condition. Now that I have read other reviews, I can only suggest that you stop apologizing to guests (we won't be back) and start investing in the hotel.
