Fab base to stay

We have stayed in a great many hotels over the years but have wanted to stay here many times but couldn’t. Now this will be the first to contact everything was great. From location to the standard of everything regarding the hotel. Food cleanliness the staff standard of room just couldn’t fault anything.i worked in hotels so I’m fussy so I’m thrilled. I had to wait 30 minutes before I could check-in, they need more staff at reception, this is a very large hotel and very busy. Bathroom suite was outdated for a 4 star hotel. Trains run on the back of the hotel so there is noise from trains passing regularly.

Very conveniently located and was good value for location and room size. Hotel is quite dated, like 20-30y since last renovation but good service and room was spacious. They could at least upgrade the pillows, would make a big difference, long flat and lumpy. Staff was lovely

Allergy to dust

Staff are great. Room looks clean but the mattress and pillows are dusty. I couldn't breathe. I had to keep going into the bathroom to clear my sinuses so I could try to sleep but as soon as I lay down the problem returned

Recent stay at the Tara

Room was clean but basic. Booked the club room which was an upgrade, still basic. Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Went for a drink in happy hour, be careful as you pay for a tip on the full price not the offer price. Don’t like paying for a tip for just a beer served at the bar. No soap, gel or shampoo in the room however when I asked, it was sent via room service within 10 mins so all good. Great location, excellent choice for breakfast.
