I travelled to Amsterdam with my 15-year-old daughter and was shocked by the poor standards and lack of care at this hotel. We arrived tired and just wanted to drop our bags and get lunch. At check-in, we were told our room would be ready in 15 minutes, but even at 15:00 (the official check-in time), it still wasn’t. We ended up waiting another 30 minutes.
When we finally got the room, it was not properly cleaned. There were crumbs all over the kitchenette, the fridge smelled bad and hadn’t been wiped down, and there were stains on the bathroom floor and walls. Then came the worst part — we found half of a blue pill on the floor. In a room meant for guests — potentially with children — this is simply unacceptable and dangerous.
I immediately reported it to staff, who said they’d take care of it. But nothing happened. I followed up several times during our stay, with photos as proof, but got no apology, no compensation, and no action. Staff seemed indifferent and unbothered by the situation.
I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. Cleanliness aside, the lack of accountability and attention to guest safety is deeply troubling. A small child could easily have picked up that pill. This wasn’t just disappointing — it was disturbing.
