Sad, unclean property
The pictures on Hotel.com site were not up to date. This place was dingy & not clean. The staff tried their best, but didn't have authority to do anything more than change rooms. Would never stay there again. Simply awful.

Online Pictures Different From Acutal Place
Check in is at 3pm and NO earlier. We arrived at 2:05pm and asked if we could check in early, we were told no and went to get something to eat. Came back at 2:48pm and was again turned away and told come back in 12 minutes. Yes, 12 minutes. Sat in my car, came back in at 3:02 pm and was finally able to check in. After getting the key, our luggage and finding our room on the second floor. The hallway smelled of cigarette smoke, even though no smoking signs posted everywhere. Found our room and opened the door only to find trash everywhere, multiple beer bottles spread throughout the room and dirty clothes laying on the door, clearly this room was still occupied. Immediately closed the door and headed back to the front desk. Informed the desk clerk what I just saw and no apology was given. Was handed a new key, now on the 3rd floor. Right out of the elevator, patched drywall, not painted to match the red on the walls. Piles of swept dirt and trash in the corner of hallway. Hallway carpet stained in multiple areas. Room was run down, old broken furniture, peeling counter tops and dirty fridge. The sheets and pillowcases were stained. I ended up going to Costco and buying pillows and a blanket to use on the bed. I'm not a picky person and never leave reviews but this place was one surprise after another. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Both sinks were Clogged, Lack of maintenance, minimal amenities, No Shampoo, one tiny soap, no coffee in room. Not even any plastic cups. some lamps did not work.

Save money but it’s give up quality
Beds were comfortable and the room suitable but if you stay here be prepared for: No food, just coffee in the morning. Rooms needed good amount of cosmetic work (paint, poor drywall patch jobs, microwave was rusty inside) and bed sheets had small but noticeable stains

Good location but not a great hotel.
This hotel needs a lot of cosmetic work. The clientele staying here was really sketchy and several looked like drug addicts. Lots of low lifes staying here. There was a huge wet spot on the carpet in my room so I was moved to another one. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable. No blow dryer, no shampoo, no dishes or silverware in the room even though there’s a kitchenette. On the plus side, there’s lots of areas to walk a dog including a trail behind the building. There are plenty of restaurants and a Starbucks within walking distance. The street out front was very busy. There are muffins and coffee in the lobby for breakfast. The hotel staff was very nice. But because of the clientele and the uncomfortable bed, I would not stay here again.
The kitchenette had no dishes or silverware.

We got in the hotel late. The person told me that usually when u reserve on the third party. I will still need to make confirmation . So they give away our room . We got there 12 mid night and we travel for 6 hours with no where to stay .

Our bathroom sink would not drain at all and the kitchen sink drained very slowly. We had to brush our teeth and wash our hands in the bathtub faucet :( I told the people at the front desk but it never was addressed. I’ve been to two other Extended stay locations and had great experiences but I am not coming back to this location.

The staff sets them apart!
I’ve stayed at this hotel for weeks sometimes while recovering from spinal surgery. I use a stroller to walk. The staff is wonderful and well trained. The manager Alex and Alvin have been accommodating to my needs. This ESA location is a hidden gem in beautiful Lake Forest.

Hotel looked in poor conditions, looked dirty, room not well maintained, bed was uncomfortable. Lines looked and felt old. I will never use this hotel again. I was very disappointed. I was expecting something different. Holiday Inn express way better!

Absolutely awful stay! Checked in on Friday night. On Saturday night our room keys didn’t work. They told us that we never checked in even though we did. We had room keys and all of our luggage was inside the room. The man at the desk wouldn’t let us into the room to get our things. We had to argue with him for 20 minutes before we could get in to get our things. Absolute nightmare! Now the hotel is blaming Expedia and despite 3 chat Conversations with Expedia, they are doing nothing. I have never been treated so poorly as a customer. I will never use Expedia or Extended Stay again.
