The room itself was clean, however I did find a black, disposable, used mask next to my bed. And we didn’t have a shower curtain when we arrived, which the staff promptly, and apologetically, corrected.
Overall the stay was good, I would stay again, however, there was an incident at check-in that left me uneasy. I don’t remember the name of the woman who checked us in, but it appeared she was training at the front desk. Being in the service industry myself I tried to make light of that to make it known we’d be easy, she responded that she “wasn’t training…well sort of..” but I digress. That wasn’t the issue. I asked her about the hot tub hours, as that was a major draw in selecting this hotel. She responded that it was closed for 8 months, a number I hold clear in my head because of the length of time. We checked in late, around 10pm, so tired, initially I thought, it’s December, it’s the off season, that makes sense. I was disappointed but we retired to our room. The next night we went down to the social cocktail hour, where my friend and I noticed a plethora of children running around, some in swimsuits, along with their guardians. We went to the pool, to find it was not only open, but booming, hot tub and all. This set me off, I didn’t understand why I was given such blatantly false information. My friend theorized it was because we’re obviously gay, which I dismissed, but looking back, it still baffles me she’d say it was closed for that long, when it clearly wasn’t. :/
