The front desk was amazing when we arrived for check-in late at night. The head groundskeeper and cleaning crew along with front desk were very kind. The room was basic and clean with damaged entertainment center, couch and beds that need replaced. However, the power went out at about 7:45am the following morning for about 2.5 hours. We inquired as we were not given any information and apparently this happens often and we would not get a credit for our inconvenience. The staff need a proper SOP for handling this type of situation. Also, the complimentary breakfast had good coffee and pancakes. There was also homemade biscuits and gravy with cereal and yogurts. We had to eat at the tables outside to get some air and wait to cool off in the pool until the gate was unlocked. The state of the pool was semi-clean. The handlebar on the main stairs is misplaced and the escutcheon is very loose causing the handlebar to not be secure and severely wobble. The shower, water fountain and lift had rust on them. The other railing in the deep end was not bolted to the pool. It was very dangerous and moved . The tile in the pool had not been brushed as it had black dirt sreaks all over. The stairs had some staining and the pool needs to be netted properly and manually vacuumed. Also, the water caused irritation to my son's eyes. The ph and chlorine levels need to be checked. All in all, the staff are very nice but this motel needs improvements.
