Booked last minute for Memorial Day weekend. I'm not from the area, so I had to rely on photos and reviews to find somewhere nice enough to stay. Because of the holiday, hotels in the area were charging way more than usual, so the cheapest, "cleanest" option was to stay here. The photos looked decent enough, so I didn't mind paying $120 plus the $50 deposit to stay here (I've never had a bad experience with red roof inn). However, arriving to the inn, the building looked nothing like the photos. The property was kind of trashed, a little grimy. Once inside the lobby to check in, I was acosted by a man looking for a ride through the parking lot to the next door gas station to buy cigarettes. Management had to chase him out to leave me and others alone. Let me be clear in stating that the staff was incredible and kind during my stay. Check in was smooth, I was surprised by the deposit, but no big deal. Cigarette man tried to block my car in with his belongings so I couldn't leave, so that was scary to deal with, but some kind people got him out of the road since he was blocking all thru-traffic. We got to our room and it was clean enough. The light switches had issues working so our lights randomly came on and turned off all night. The shower was broken so it was hard to use at first. But the rest of the room was pretty decent. The A/C worked, our bed was clean and comfy, and we even had a TV, fridge, and microwave. Would I pay as much as I did to stay here again? No.
