tenth anniversary

We spent a very pleasant evening and morning for our tenth anniversary. We had a really nice view of the river and the room was well equiped and comfortable. Great bathtub.

The best spot in downtown Portland!

We always stay in room 301. It is a large, but comfy suite with a fireplace and river view. We love it! It was cold and rainy when we went, so the fireplace was put to good use. Due to COVID, we had to call and ask for more towels and firewood, etc., and we ate the great salmon from the hotel restaurant in our room, but otherwise great stay once again, and location is "downtown", but nowhere near the madness near the courthouse, nor the main traffic noise of downtown.

Great location. Right on the Willamette River in Portland. Smallish but luxurious rooms and nice amenities. Great lobby. They are affected by Covid, but so is everybody.

The staff was extremely nice and helpful, and the location was convenient. The hotel itself needs some serious remodeling. Our bathroom clearly hasn’t been uploaded since the place was built in the 70s. The washer and dryer were scary. There were nice touches throughout, like a lively fireplace and a new comfy couch. It was like someone tried to cover up an old chip apartment with a few modern touches on a budget. That would be ok for a hundred, but when you pay close to five, unacceptable.

Hotel restaurant was closed for 3 months and is making a slow recovery. No breakfast service and only a very limited menu for other meals and at the bar. I’d stay at the close- by Marriott if I had it to do over.

Must stay!

It was my husband’s birthday and we had to come during COVID and protesters. Our suite was unforgettable. The view was breathtaking and we had difficulty closing the beautiful drapes to go to bed. The shower was a phenomenon with the temperature setting, rain head, handle held massager head, the fabulously aromatic products, the jacuzzi tube!!! I had to cream rinse twice because I loved the smell of it. Our bed was huge and so comfortable! We loved the two big televisions and the quality of them. Now I know what I want for Christmas. We had a gourmet meal on the deck overlooking the marina with the best bottle of Pinot Noir. Even though it had to be done the COVID way, we both felt special in our celebration. The staff from valet to check in to the waiter to check out were warm and accommodating. We’re telling everyone The Kimpton is the place to stay. The special touches were very detailed even the handles on the dresser and the tables and lamps were unique and elegant. They even gave my husband a dessert with “Happy Birthday” written on it. We have a new car and felt safe having it valet parked there during the unrest near by. It was very hot weather so we didn’t use the wood burning fire place but plan to come again in winter to try it out. Style, taste and pampering are all included. Checking out was sad to do.

Just Fine!

It was fine. It wouldn’t be my first choice based on the other hotels in downtown Portland but overall was fine.
