Clean but no frills

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Plenty of parking. Was adequate for a no frills place.. there was a small refrigerator in the room but no coffee pot. Shared microwave available in lobby.

Not TRULY dog friendly

Upon arrival the man behind the desk informed me that pets are not allowed alone in the rooms. He wasn't even going to allow me to put them in the room on an 80 degree day while I went back to the car to get luggage. He wanted them back in my car. He sternly said "pet friendly doesn't mean the dog can be in the room the entire time." I have stayed in DOZENS of dog friendly hotels and motels of all price points and I've NEVER heard of such a policy. I said they'll be crated if I go out, I brought their crate. He told me that didn't matter. Not wanting an argument I said politely no problem, I'll call hotels.com because the policy isn't on there and they'll just rebook me in a fully pet friendly property. Instantly his entire tune changed "well, we REQUEST you don't leave the dog alone in your room. We can't REQUIRE it. We've had a lot of problems and others guests complaining." I'm guessing corporate wants them dog friendly but they don't want to be? He was completely unpleasant to me for the remaining 3 days and watched me as if he was my college RA & I was on double secret probation. I wouldn't rule this location out but book through hotels.com so you'll have recourse if they try to pull this with you. Or call in advance and say I will be leaving my dog from time to time but they will be crated, I heard others were allowed to do so within your policy. The property is no frills but it's immaculately clean, large rooms with balconies and the location can't be beat for the $.

Dog friendly stay

Chose this location because it was pet friendly and I needed to bring my dog on this trip. There were quite a few dogs at the hotel. The hotel was only 10 minutes from Ocean Beach/Boardwalk which was very convenient.

Always a great stay

I always enjoy my stays here at motel 6 in somers point, NJ ..they're always clean, very friendly, it's always quiet and peaceful and I absolutely love the private balconies. The beds are comfy and the rooms are spacious. I only wish they had microwaves and coffee makers in the rooms but I can certainly deal with that for the prices and comfortability and cleanliness of the rooms. The room I just stayed in last night was the first room I had with any issues...the toilet was not flushing properly and the air conditioner was blowing out very cold air but the room did not cool down until early morning so I'd say it took a good 10 hours to cool down and that's not usually the case. The units usually work very quickly but it could have been because of how hot it's been that it was just taking long to cool back down in there bc like I said the air coming out was ice cold...it wasn't hot in the room it just wasn't cold like it usually is when the air is on.

DO NOT STAY HERE if you have other options ! The area was great the hotel was not. The room was very dusty, dirty, sticky, smelly and the AC in the room broke during a heat wave . I had to wipe the room down myself upon arrival. The TV also didn’t work . We weren’t moved until the next day and nothing was done to remedy our experience. This was the worst hotel stay I’ve had through Expedia and would avoid this hotel if possible.

check in went fine but when we got to our room there were multiple dead bugs everywhere, bathroom door did not lock or even shut, also our door was wipe open when we originally arrived, it was being held open by hangers which was weird. the pictures are nothing like what we walked into. don’t recommend

Its not quiet and the walls are so thin, i could here everything going on in my neighbors room and the hallway. The water in the toilet ran all night, my door had to be slammed to lock and each time my neighbors close theirs i could hear the slamming. The neighbor next to me was moaning and banging the wall all night. However, I can say that although the rooms are basic, they were pretty clean. Our rooms also had balconies but no chairs.
