I had the absolute BEST stay at Fauno Urbano. As a solo female traveler coming to Rome in the max heat of summer and tourist season I felt I needed an oasis with a pool! Not so easy to find, but this gem of a property gave me everything I needed for the perfect vacation and was at a totally reasonable price point for me. The room was spacious and well appointed. The property was so lush and quiet, with only lovely mellow cafe jazz playing by the pool. And trust me, after a morning of heat and throngs of tourists, it is like coming home to heaven.
Beyond the property itself, I was treated like a real friend by Rafael, the lovely man running things on the days I stayed. It’s because of people like him that I love traveling solo. He was open and helpful, curious and personable. He needs a raise! He anticipated when I would like cocktails by the pool and anyone who has ever employed people knows how difficult a good employee is to come by.
Also, every day when I returned from my sightseeing days my room was made up so thoughtfully. I’m not sure the lovely lady’s name, but grazie mille for making me feel cared for.
If you read other reviews of this beautiful, unique spot and they offer complaints, you can disregard those and just use mine as the correct assessment. The other amazing thing was there were no children, whether by design or just luck. It made for a tranquil, perfect oasis in a chaotic city. GRAZIE PER TUTTO, FAUNO URBANO!
