Old Charlottenburg.

A real old world charmer. Room was huge, bathroom ‘in a closet’ was small but comfortable for us. The location perfect for exploring C’burg, Zoo, Ku’damm, etc, etc. 10 minute walk from a main rail and U-bahn hub; 5 minutes from several U-bahn lines. Lovely lobby/dining and cute gifts. The Gasthaus down the street is typically old style Berlin and good food for most every (including vegetarian) tastes.

Ok room and location - no hot water in the tap

Nice staff and room. However, I notified the reception in the first morning that there was no hot water in the tap in the bathroom (only in the shower). They said they would fix it but nothing happened. (I cannot be the first guest telling them about this)...

Overall not a good experience

A bit outdated and run-down hotel. A light did not work in my room. The breakfast buffet was small and not worth the money. Some of the staff were very rude. And most did not seem very interested or proud of the hotel. Luckily a brand new hotel recently opened just across the street. They have a nice var and very friendly staff. I spent time in their lounge and bar instead.

Gutes Hotel im Herzen von Charlottenburg. Nostalgische Zimmer, schön renoviert und sehr sauber. Ich kenne das Henri in Berlin von Aufenthalten vor der Pandemie und bin gerne wieder dort zu Gast gewesen. Allerdings gab es wohl einen Inhaberwechsel, und das merkt man leider. Der Spirit ist ein Stück weit weg - das, was dieses Haus so einzigartig machte. Früher saß man im Jugendstil-Salon, und ein großes Radion im Retro-Srtil spielte Tango oder französische Chansons oder deutsche Musik aus den Zwanzigern des vorigen Jahrhunderts. dazu trank man ein Glas guten Weins und genoss die "Abendstulle" - in einer kleinen Gästeküche standen (ausreichend!) frisches Brot und zahlreiche wertige Beläge von Wurst und Käse. Übriggeblieben ist leises Hintergrund-Gedudel in einem Teil der 3 Salons, und das "Abendbrot", das es von 19 bis 21 Uhr geben sollte, war um 19:30 komplett leer. Der Belag bestand nur noch aus Frischkäse und etwas Rohkost. Auf meine Frage hin wurden fünf Scheiben Puten-"Schinken" aus dem Discounter nachgelegt. Neben der tollen alten Bausubstanz, liebevoll erhalten und restauriert, war es dieses Ambiente, in dem man als Geschäftsreisender abends sitzen konnte, ohne nochmal rauszumüssen, das den Zauber des Hauses ausgemacht hat. Davon ist leider nicht mehr viel übrig.
