Upon walking into the room I noticed the smoke detector was sitting next to the microwave. Not sure why, or if the last guest has disabled it to smoke. I tried calling the front desk to let them know, but the phone was dead. I walked it down to them instead. The remote for the TV was sticky and I had to wipe it down. Trying to catch the end of game 5 of NBA Finals, the TV kept losing signal. There was no hot water in the shower and the drain plug linkage for the tub was sitting on top of the toilet. We slept well, the beds were comfy. In the morning I wanted to make coffee, but there was only a decaf Kurig pod, the regular pod was already used and still in the coffee maker. Room obviously wasn't turned over very well. Incredibly disappointing for a Holiday Inn, would never stay there, or anywhere near Oakbrook Terrace ever again. Especially for the $141 I paid.

The hotel room was ok but had a weird smell.the biggest problem was that they didn’t have any hot water in the whole building and so I checked out early.I have yet to receive my refund or my 50 dollar incidental fee on my card and they have charges my card again I will never visit there again I have called numerous times asking about my refund and they are still making excuses.

It was ok up until the next morning went to take a shower and no hot water. Could not wash my butt and be clean. when spoke about it with front desk lady could not help manager was not there and she took our info down and stated a manager will call to refund some of our money back. have not heard anything

Holiday Inn Chicago/ Oakbrook is a Wonderful hotel and offers many amenities that few other hotels I've stayed at. The beds and pillows are of excellent quality and I always sleep well when I stay here. The showers some of the best of Any hotel I have been to. The rooms are very well equipped and even have refrigerators and microwaves in all the rooms something most hotels do not even offer. The location Perfect, as Oakbrook mall, several restaurants and retail stores are close by. There is even a bar/restaurant- Bar Louie's attached to the hotel for dining or just to grab a drink after a long busy day. All the staff are always very friendly and helpful. I Highly recommend this hotel for all your stays for business or family !

There was mold in the bathroom ceiling chipping paint, and dirty tub. The sink was stopped up and took hours to drain. The lamp didn’t have a lightbulb, and the ice machines didn’t work. This used to be such a nice and fun hotel and it’s sad that it’s gone downhill so much. I have stayed my last stay there. Totally not worth the money.

Check in was fine. Went up on elevator to my floor and the floor was filthy and it was very dated. Entered my room which smelled of smoke even though it was nonsmoking. The door between my room and the next room was broken and mounted crooked on hinges along with the handle just hanging there. Pushed chair and table up against door to try and feel safe. Smoke alarm was disconnected and laying on top of wardrobe. Didn’t sleep due to music all night next door. Horrible night.

Mold in the bathroom above the shower, no wash cloths in the bathroom, odd smell in room. Spiders. Bar Louie definitely made up for the terrible room.

I never felt so disrespected visiting Chicago ever. The front desk person, Byron Ce, actually named, Byron Celleri (after looking on the net)was very rude!!! He photo copied my id and at first couldn’t explain why, until I told him that has never in my life been a procedure I was familiar with even in covid. I had to explain to him taking a form of payment and a copy of someone drivers license without it being posted as a formality and him being able to explain was suspect. He replied back, I don’t know, my manager told me to do it. Then, seemed like he couldn’t remember the managers last name. 4 other customers checked in and not one id was copied. Eyes were red like he was under the influence. Couldn’t stand still long enough to be polite while I was talking to him. Kept walking off while I was asking about the pool (which wasn’t noted that it was closed online). The feeling of being there was just not what I planned for a 3 day Family getaway. I canceled my room and he then did not want to give me a copy of stuff back without making an additional copy. I asked for CS number for a refund. He gave me the wrong number. I returned the keys. After, returning from the car given the wrong number he gave, without me even stating ANYTHING, while helping another customer (he was also being rude to), he looks up and says I refunded you your money. I replied I guess so after giving me the run around. Then asked was I just up in the room? HOW WHEN I NEVER MOVED & GAVE YOU THE KEY?
