We have stayed at the Maison Dupuy several times over the years and during that time the value for the money has decreased due to lack of upkeep of the rooms and building. Certain aspects of the property are beautiful and authentic and charming.
Everything inside was pretty much on the cusp of disrepair, especially the elevators and the bathrooms. Our King bed room with balcony was tiny for the price, which is understandable with a historic building. But overall the room was not very clean and the bathroom had pretty bad mold and mildew, with a fan that did not work, and the shower wall insert bowing outward from the wall. The hot water is hot hot which was good. The staff were mostly personable and happy tohelpp, which we had experienced previously and made the MD memorable. Its a relatively long walk to Bourbon Street and the river, but outside the hotel is still pretty noisy. The AC worked well and was the best part of the room on 98 degree days. We might consider a different property next trip until the MD overhauls some rooms.
