The best places to go shopping in Hue let you experience the local lifestyle and learn about the city’s unique history and culture while also gathering some interesting souvenirs. Home to local markets, art galleries and tailor shops, Hue is arguably one of the best cities in Vietnam to purchase authentic handicrafts. Popular items include silk paintings, antiques, and lacquerware.
About a 10-minute drive from Hue Imperial City are several non-profit organizations and fair-trade outlets along Vo Thi Sau Street. Not only do they offer quality goods made by locals, but visitors can also learn how to make simple handicrafts in workshops as mementoes of their vacation in Hue. Do note that some sellers, especially in Dong Ba and Tay Loc Market, aren’t fluent in English, but don’t let that deter you from bargaining for the lowest price.
