The hotel was clean and in a great location. Staff were friendly when checking in/out and when we had questions about things to do/which direction to take.
Why two stars? That’s because on our first night at approximately 11:30pm the alarm starts blaring. It’s supposed to, I get it. We get ourselves together and start heading for the stairs. Then the alarm stops and an announcement plays that there is no emergency and to disregard the alarm. Ok, back up the stairs to the room. Now repeat this for the next 30 minutes. It was so stressful and confusing and I can’t imagine how intense it was for the families with kids that had to go through this.
There was zero communication from the front desk about this during, immediately after, or even in the morning. When I asked staff what happened, no one knew but said there were technicians on site. The second night was quiet but the alarm problems returned during the evening of day three.
I’m disappointed that there was zero communication from the hotel about this when it happened nor has there been any effort to reach out at all. An actual emergency would be different, this wasn’t.
