Very pleasantly surprised by Quito. We felt safe in the historic town area. There is so much happening in the streets, it's so lively and everyone we met so friendly. Recommend the hop on hop off bus.

Quito historical downtown is great but I was cautioned to stay in the crowed and lighted areas. The new metro enables you to traverse most of the city.

Quito is beautiful, but a city that is not particularly safe (mostly the evening). So an abundance of caution is required.

We were unsure what to expect, hearing reports of unrest and unstable power in Quito. We heeded advice to stick to the well-policed Historic district and found it safe, welcoming and beautiful. Highly recommend a walking tour with a local guide!

It was a nice place. I went to the broadwalk and then the downtown area. I took the on & off again bus and learned a lot about the area. The New Year celebration was explained to me that was an interesting tradition. I had a good time.

I live in Medellin Colombia, so there were a lot of similarities, but also a lot of unique differences. I would definitely recommend a trip to middle of the world and a cable car up the volcano.

A beautiful and modern city. I come on business once a year and I am fond of the city, which I find to be quieter and safer than other, more highly urbanized, South American capitals
"Large, comfortable rooms, nicely decorated. Very good restaurant on site. Excellent breakfast. Located on a popular street in Quito. The staff is very attentive. Hugo, the hotel’s security guard, was especially helpful. We highly recommend and will definitely return to this hotel. "
"The hotel was extremely beautiful, well kept, nicely decorated and the staff including the 24hr security at the door were kind and friendly. Our room was located on the 7th floor. Robinson, one of the front desk personnel was helpful with our check in and our check out. One of my only gripes is an alarm from either a car or a commercial property that went off multiple times every single night. It did not keep us awake, but it was a bit of a nuisance to hear it so often each night. "
