We were visiting family at UAB hospital and found this hotel last minute. We arrived late, after 10pm, and the front desk was super courteous and kind. Our room was clean without even any stray stuff in the corners of the bathroom, as can often be found. The beds were comfy and room amenities perfect. The breakfast in the morning was top notch. It was maybe 15-20 minutes to the hospital depending on traffic, and we felt very safe in the area. It's a beautiful area around the hotel. There was ample parking, even on a weekend night, with easy access to the hotel.
My only negatives:
Our neighbors were loud and woke me up the 2nd night, which was more about the neighbors and less about the hotel, since for the most part the hotel was quiet and pretty well sound-proofed as hotels go. Most of the staff was incredible, but there were one or two staff members we came across that clearly did not want to be there or do their job. They weren't outright 'rude', just obviously were trying to avoid being asked anything or bothered.
I was going to sit by the pool, which looked nice, but wasn't able to access it for some reason. My key card worked everywhere else but the pool. There are two washers and dryers on site for personal use. It cost a bit more than I was expecting, and of course to buy laundry detergent or anything in the convenience area was excessively priced.
All in all, we would stay here again and recommend this hotel.
