Booking with this hotel was a terrible experience.
My booking was on the 1st of November (2 days after the floods in Valencia that left over 200 deaths around the city). At that point Valencia was unreachable (all public transport was cancelled and the government had issued a ban to drive on roads of affected areas - basically most roads around and in to Valencia to allow space for emergency vehicles). I tried contacting the hotel to ask for a cancellation and reimbursement due to the extraordinary situation. I also contacted Hotels.com, who also attempted to contact the hotel. After numerous messages, I only got an answer 5 days later (4th of November), informing me that I should go through hotels.com. I did that, and they still refused to issue a refund.
Completely unacceptable, unethical and unprofessional behaviour.
