Weekend in Heidelberg
Lovely quaint hotel, with excellent staff, outstanding service and breakfast. I highly recommend staying here. The location was right off the main part of the Alstadt and near the river.

6/10 Good

Location was great but no A/C
The check-in process took awhile and accommodations were just average. Unfortunately it was one of the hottest days and the room didn’t have A/C. They did have a fan in the room we were able to use throughout the night and it kept the room just cool enough to sleep.

8/10 Very Good

Decent Room but No AC
Modest hotel on the second floor of a restaurant. Room was clean and well maintained and water pressure was good for hot/cold showers. There is a fan. No A/C. We visited in August and the room was hot.

A perfect place to stay in Heidelberg
Our family loved our stay! The location, the hospitality and the breakfast was perfection. The staff went above and beyond and were fun to chat with. Easy walk from train station, too. I cannot recommend this hotel enough!

Great property in the heart of the old town of Heidelberg. No AC which was difficult to get used to since we were there in July. Room was still very quiet for being located on the second floor above the Main Street into Heidelberg. Could be an issues if you go to bed early, but we would go to bed around 10:30 or so never an issue for us, and we had the windows open at night.

Everything is perfect when you like to stay in the middle of town...with the live and the noise at night and the convenience of walking everywhere daytime.....the in-house restaurant give you fantastic food - local specialities freshly cooked all the time - service is friendly and efficient any time of the day....and if you need your car....its in a parkhouse just 5 minutes away for a discounted price... And if you want a quiet night, ask for a garden facing room ...no noise at all...

The Family Suite is huge. It has a kitchen with refrigerator and dishwasher, 2 huge bedrooms, huge bathroom and an extra toilet. Property is near tourist attractions, shopping and dinning and grocery store. Near transportation. Front desk staff nice and helpful. Weekend has a band playing near old bridge, very festive. If you don’t like the noise, just close the windows. Suite also has a good a/c and a fan. No elevator going upstairs but we were ok with it. Highly recommended.

Five stars all around. The Hotel was fantastic, the staff were incredible and it's the perfect location in Old Heidelberg. The room was also very large and very clean with its own terrace. The morning breakfast was simple but great and I can't stress enough how lovely the staff were.

8/10 Very Good

Most central location - right next to the Gate and everything is easily accessible, a traditional German-style decor, small-ish rooms but that's to be expected in this part of town, clean rooms. it can get a bit noisy in the night especially if you decide to leave the windows open, but that's to be expected if you pick a hotel that's on the main thoroughfare The only downside for me was that Google Maps just could not pinpoint the hotel and so we kept driving for over 45 minutes. But the friendly lady who picked up the phone then advised me to proceed to a designated parking spot on Zwingerstrasse which is about a 5-10 min walk from the hotel. If you've got heavy luggage, it could be a problem, otherwise it's fine I would recommend this hotel

I loved this hotel. We had a wonderful view of the castle from our window, the room was very spacious, clean and nicely decorated. We even had fresh natural flowers. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They have a nice restaurant. This property was by far the one I enjoyed the most during our trip in Europe. Highly recommend room 12.

This is a charming inn and restaurant just steps away from the old bridge. The breakfast buffet was quite good and the location is unbeatable, but what makes it special is its friendly staff and the owner. I stayed with children in the family apartment and it felt very comfortable. I would stay here again!

This hotel is right in the middle of old town, half a block from the #35 bus from the train station (get off at the old bridge). The rooms were individually decorated and quaint. The restaurant downstairs was delicious.

The BEST! We wouldn’t have enjoyed Heidelberg half as much without staying our 3 nights @ Hackteufel. Such a beautiful, historic building with an excellent restaurant and “Weinstube”. Also spectacular outdoor seating in historic Steingasse, looking at Karl-Theodor Brücke (Alte Brücke) on one end and Heiliggeist Kirche on the other end. We just LOVED our deluxe twin room on the 2nd floor (Liselotte Stube 4), which was located to the back of the building. All we could hear outside was beautiful bird song - no noise from Steingasse whatsoever. Our amazing room and the cool bathroom were spacious, comfortable and so well appointed. Hackteufel is a fabulously maintained and brilliantly-run hotel by the very hospitable owner, Frau Hellmich and her personable, helpful team. We also greatly enjoyed the tasty breakfast buffet, dinner and drinks at Hackteufel. If travelling by car: Park house P12 is only 350m away (next to “Bergbahnen”). Parking discount available at hotel reception. In the morning, it is possible to drive up to Hotel Hackteufel until 11am, which we did to load luggage into the car for departure. After 11am, the old part of the city is closed to traffic. Everything is in such close walking distance: Alte Brücke and Brückenaffe 100m, Heiliggeist Kirche 160m, Mall (Hauptstrasse) 200m, “Bergbahnen” (mountain cable car) 350m for a ride up to Königstuhl and stunning Schloss Heidelberg … Our stay couldn’t have been better :-)
