Good location, tired hotel.
Great location, but the rooms are very old. The bath had stains in it (not dirty, just old) and a rusted nail next to the shower head. Room had huge vaulted ceilings which was cool, and a big air con for the summer heat. Walls were in pretty bad condition, very scuffed and clearly hasn’t been retouched in a few years. Lots of potential here, just needs a lick of paint and a bathroom refit, bones are good, Staff was nice at check in, but no one was at reception from 4-6AM when we needed to check out.

Looks nothing like photos. Rooms are so basic and definitely feels like a 1 star. When we arrived we were given budget room even though we paid for triple so had to ask for this. Ok hotel if you dont care about your room Air con and location is good. City tax way too expensive for the hotel

I will express my deep dosappointment again here, as there is NO! indication, as to what real condition this so called Hotel Domus Rome *** is in. A total building site with work starting at 8AM .. with a mon existant outside Hotel name .. it is only through the street number one finds the respective building that sports two other no longer existing hotel names.the evening front attendant is moudsy to.the point of knowing thst their guests are already disapointed with the whole path leading to the second floor a mess. FINE, if one knew, but there is no indication on the booking sites that you book a room in a builing site. Noise starts at 8AM.The rooms are not at their freshest look and not what Hotel mgmt wants you to believe: a magical modern lace in the eternal City .. certainly not a beautiful place. Lift your game. The prices are too high for this appointment .. maybe when the renovations are finished. I feel like I am just used to basically co finance what the owners dream is. I feel wronged .. shame on you guys (whom are not present on location ..for that front job they put pior staff who exactly know, that this is not what it us made out to be. Shame..shame Rol

If you are looking only for a place to sleep in close proximity to the train and sights of Rome, this place will do the trick. If you are looking for anything else, I’d continue your search. The entire building is under construction, with the hotel being on the second floor giving the appearance of a pop-up hotel or dorm able to be moved over night if necessary. Beds are uncomfortable, shower pressure good, but limited hot water and drain plugs up. The safe isn’t affixed to anything, and you can literally walk right in from the street, to the hotel hallway with only a front desk night attendee as security. Not a comfortable stay.

6/10 Good

This hotel is located on the second floor of an old building close to the Repubblica metro station. It is also within walking distance from the Roma Termini station. The location is very convenient, with bus access to the Vatican and other sights right downstairs. There is a MacDonald’s and numerous restaurants downstairs from the property, and the area did not feel particularly unsafe at night. The building is in an unfortunate state right around now (September 2024) as there appears to be some sort of renovation construction going on one floor down, so the building looks quite shady and unclean, which is made worse by the construction workers who are smoking around the elevator. The hotel itself was clearly renovated recently and has some clean and new floor tiles and ikea cabinets, etc., and the rooms are quite big for the location. The AC worked quite well once I managed to figure out how to use it. However, the renovation does not adequately hide the fact that the property is fairly old and run down. This shows in the walls, windows and doors (which were not at all soundproof), and particularly the bathrooms. My shower did not drain properly so I stood in ankle-deep water whenever I took a shower, and the toilet is awkwardly tucked away behind the sink, which may be an issue if you have longer legs. Overall, I thought this was an acceptable stay, but it is definitely not the “excellent” rating that this hotel currently is on Expedia.

2/10 Poor

I booked Hotel Domus in Rome because we had stayed on Via Nazionale before, and it was highly rated. Unfortunately, the experience was terrible from the start. The entrance was hard to find, dimly lit, run-down, and had a foul smell. The hotel is located on the second floor, and the room was extremely basic. The bathroom was the worst—smelly, with no exhaust, broken fixtures, and the shower faucet didn’t work. When I informed the receptionist, he confirmed the shower was broken but did nothing to address the issue. They had contacted me earlier asking for my check-in time, so they had ample time to inspect the room before my arrival at 8:30 pm, but clearly failed to do so. The receptionist, who’s the only person around, charged me for city tax, and then informed us that there were no rooms available for a family of three. He offered to have a service team fix the bathroom but spent over half an hour staring at his phone, waiting for his manager. He refused to provide his manager’s name and falsely claimed we declined an alternative room at another location. My family refused to stay, and when I requested a refund for the city tax, he delayed it by another half hour eventually handing me cash without a receipt. By 10 pm, we had to book another hotel after this exhausting ordeal. As an experienced traveler, this was the worst check-in I’ve ever faced. I do not recommend this hotel and the glowing reviews are misleading.

I spent 3 nights, great location from the Metro. I explored Rome from morning until night. Good place to stay if you are just looking for a place to sleep. If your are one of those individuals that wants a nice comfortable place to relax and spend a lot of time in the room(this is not for you).

8/10 Very Good

The location was convenient to the rail station and the airport buses, as well as dining and sightseeing. The only issue we had was trying to find the property because the signage was very small and the entrance didn’t look like the entrance to the hotel as two other hotels were advertised with big signage at the same location and there was some renovation work going on the bottom floor.
