I come from a regional NSW town and living in a city has little appeal but Melbourne is one city I could definitely live in. It is cleverly planned organised and so clean compared to Sydney. Transportation is such a breeze. It has so much culture.

Good
A lot to see, especially out-of-city tours to the ocean, safari zoo, penguins, Weribee mansion. In the city, I liked the free train tour, Library, National Gallery and several free walking tours organized by the company that operates in Sydney too.

Melbourne is the most tourist friendly city I've been to. Everything is within walking distance, or taking the free trams is making it so convenient to explore the city. There's a lot to see and attractions are affordable, highly recommended.

Plenty of famous and historical landmarks around the city. Fairly easy to navigate the transport system, but did have some issues with mobile myki and navigating the location of the free tram stops, despite being from the same country.

Handy to have the free tram zone. The Tram 35 - tourist tram - does not operate on Sundays. You have to buy a Myti card to use the trams outside of the zone AU$6 and then top up. Huge City but very walkable.

"It was in a very convenient location - a short walk from the bus station. Furthermore the gym was a handy bonus and the excellent complimentary breakfast all made it very good value."
