Kolkata has changed in 10 years since we last visited. More western style shops and eateries, but it still has the usual chaos and delights. Major new infrastructure i would say has been less sympathetic to its surroundinfgs - S Asia for you.

"The Taj met all of my expectations and way beyond. From the Senior Manager to the Duty Manager Mrs Urva all was splendid. Chu at the spa is an incredible masseuse. I felt extremely relaxed. The gentleman Kishan who serves tea is so effulgent with his smile and loving attitude. I must say my favorite person was Birmal Darnal. He was so animated and made me feel so welcome. Shout out to the housekeeping staff and the restaurant. I love it hete"
"The stay was good, although some aspects of the property are expectedly old (probably by design).
Otherwise, it was a good stay and the staff were very helpful. "
