Bad Experience...
I booked my reservation through Expedia and paid it. When i arrived there i was told i needed to pay a $300.00 deposit before I could get my room. I didn't have the money for that, so i couldn't stay. I didn't notice any notification online that the hotel owner required that to get my room. I contacted Customer service and was told my booking fee was non-refundable. So I lost my money, my stay there, and time & money it took to get there.

No elevator
Generally all was pleasant about this downtown Phoenix lodging EXCEPT there was NO elevator so we had to lug our heavy load up to the 2nd floor. We were pleased that there wasn't breakfast offered because we wanted to eat at Matts Big Breakfast nearby...best bacon I've ever eaten!

Well, where do I begin to rave about this little gem, located in the heart of downtown Phoenix's historic "Auto Repair District." No, I'm not gonna knock the location, saying something is "in a bad area" is just code for racists to use with each other. The location was fine, just a few blocks from the light rail and an amazing brewery across the street. What I will knock is the hotel itself. Nevermind that it was 118 degrees outside, the owners did not feel the need to use AC in the lobby or the halls. The room itself smelled like a hamster cage, and was disgusting. I'm no stranger to staying at "literally the cheapest hotel on Expedia" and I get what that generally comes with, but this place was even worse than what I expected. The desk staff were so rude, to the point that it seemed like they were going out of their way to show how much of a nuisance it was to have guests staying there. How dare I ask you for a bottle of water at 2 in the afternoon? And they also were not wearing masks at any point in my stay, even walking around the property. At least housekeeping had good attitudes. There were a total of four available electrical outlets in the entire room, none of which were near the bed, which in 2020 is of course a major hassle. I mean, you get what you pay for, but I would have gladly spent an extra $5 per night to stay at "the next cheapest place on Expedia" had I known how awful this property was.

Dirty, smelly and insecure.
The property felt insecure, gates didnt lock. The room smelled bad and it was supposed to be non smoking. We looked at a second room that was even dirtier. We didnt use the room at all, contacted hotels.com, got a refund and went to a different hotel.

Juste pour dormir (et prendre une douche froide)
Un motel correct... à condition que vous ne vouliez pas prendre une douche chaude. En quatre jours, je n'ai pas eu d'eau chaude dans la douche malgré mes réclamations quotidienne. La chambre était propre, mais visiblement vieille, avec peu de prises électriques. Le réveil était inutilisable (prise tordue) et il y avait une lampe dans un coin... mais sans prise électrique disponible à proximité pour la brancher ! Le motel donne directement sur un carrefour et une caserne de pompiers donc ne vous attendez pas à du calme. Les voisins ont l'habitude de se réunir dans les coursives pour boire des bières, discuter et écouter de la musique. Heureusement j'aime Metallica... mais j'ai quand même dormi avec des bouchons auditifs. L'accueil est une loterie : vous pouvez tomber sur le gentleman affable et serviable, ou alors sur la jeune femme que vous semblez déranger et qui ne vous sourira jamais. Le petit-déjeuner est très simpliste, mais il est gratuit, donc rien à redire. Le parking est facile et on est bien situé, au milieu du downtown.
