I have know Plymouth for 40 years. It is a big city with its share of difficulties but is generally clean, safe and The Hoe (seafront) is pleasant. The mainly historic part is the Barbican, well worth a visit. It has improved in the last 40 years.

Plymouth is starting to benefit from recent investment and development. Already the Barbican and King William Dockyard are exciting historical places to visit. Hopefully the city centre development will continue in the same way.

Friends laughed when we said we were having a few days in Plymouth, but we found lots to do. Great boat trips, great restaurants, great walking tours, great museums/galleries. Easily enough to keep us occupied and happy.

Plymouth is perfect for a 2-3 days city tour. The town itself is very walkable, and you could make a round town in less than 2 hours at a leisurely pace. Their Gin Distillery and the Aquarium are both recommended.

Visited the harbour and Barbican area which was lovely. Lots of bars and restaurants. Recommend the restaurant the Barbican Kitchen, hidden away in a gin distillery.

"Excellent location. Staff friendly and rooms were clean. Car parking and breakfast are limited. Also, dont be fooled by the picture of a swimming pool on the website. This is a lido about 10 minutes walk away"
"Very pleasant stay and great location!
Special shout out to Olivia who did a tremendous job at breakfast, the dining room was packed with guests and it overflowed into the lounge bar too! They were working with skeleton staff and everyone came down to eat at the same time, however, she did a fantastic job … well done Olivia!"
"Great staff, good service, great modern room. Comfortable bed, welcome drinks, reasonable food prices and good portions. Nice relaxed vibe in the bar & dining area."
"I was a late arrival as it was a last minute trip for work.
Check in was swift and polite and when I explained I was covering last minute for a colleague he gave me a voucher for a free breakfast
Made me feel special and I really appreciated the service and gesture"
"Beautiful location, with excellent food, staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the room was large and clean. Access to the golf course was a bonus"
