Best Beach in Jamaica Almost no one on Beach
No reason to get ocean view rooms. Your only a few steps from private pool and plenty of chairs and covered areas on the beach. No crowds, usually only 4-5 families using beach at any time. Restaurants and Bars very close. Margaritaville steps away.

Quite underrated - quiet and clean
So what do you want out of your trip to Negril? Interaction with very good local food? Avoid noisy neighbors? Safe and clean? Incredibly laid back? And all for a very reasonable price? You've found the right place. I'd stay here again - but I would yes to all of my questions listed above too.

This is one of the worst places to stay in Negril
When we tried to check in, we were told that there was no reservation for us, and that they were fully booked. Also, they "don't do Expedia anymore." The place looked horrible, like a cluttered mess so we were kind of happy to be getting out of there. Several of the hotels around the Beachcomber are MUCH better, and have the same beach front. Not only that, when I tried to get a refund from Expedia, the Beachcomber said that they in fact had a room for me and I would be charged for the full week. Liars! STAY AWAY FROM THIS DUMP!!!

So you thought you booked a ocean view room
We arrived at the beachcombers Club resort. When we arrived we had to wait 1 hour before the person that could checking us in came to the front, when she finally got there she told us that there was no room and she was booked up, I showed her my confirmation. She told me that she never received it I had book through Expedia, I called Expedia they started working on this right away. First off we had booked the ocean view with kitchen come to find out the kitchen is shared not what they advertise. To make a long story short, we ending up there for 5 hours and the manager showed us a room that was dirty and under construction wanting us to take that with no discount. There was another couple there that was going through the same thing as us. If it wasn't for Expedia I don't know what we would have done, they found us a place and booked it for us. I can tell you one thing I will always book through Expedia. I would not recommend this resort to anyone. Not only was the service terrible but the rooms were also. Thanks Expedia for saving my vacation.

30 $ fridge
There was only one girl at the front desk that was welcoming the rest seemed to busy to care about anything. The rooms need a major renovation. They took a credit card imprint just in case of extra fee and still come and almost bust in the door for 30 $ for a rental fridge as if we would run out on the bill. It just seemed rude. I'll never go back. There is a place called Travellers on the same road that I would recommend to someone who is looking to relax and enjoy Jamaica

Best place to regroup.
Love love it it was just what I needed to regroup. The only concern was the cable very poor.Could only watch 1 channel but overall I will come back again. Also I would have loved a little more island food like banana (green) yam and plantains. My sister will be coming on Dec she said if I love it then she will stay there. Thanks again I'm gonna make this my permanent stop before visiting family.

Lower your expectations, and you might enjoy
Rooms were dirty. Linen was untrustworthy and sometimes frayed. Bar was constantly out of stock of everything from rum to ice. Food was expensive and lacked variety, we only at there once and we bought groceries from that point on. Location was excellent! Staff was capable, but their hands were tied by lack of infrastructure, provisions and training. Wi-fi was never available. It was supposed to be free in the lobby, but it wasn't visible to my devices. The fact is, this place is old and run down. If it were well managed and clean, I would consider staying there again. But it is outdated and filthy. Some rooms may be better than others due to what seems like slow renovations that probably are outpaced by the deterioration rate. The management is the poorest part of this hotel. The property is beautiful and the rooms were very spacious. Kitchen with stove and refrigerator was a big bonus. Too bad the pots were 20 years old and very dirty. The conditions of the rooms will definitely inspire you to go outside and enjoy the beautiful beach, sunsets and atmosphere.

Not worth the $ paid; hotel sorely needs upgrade
Sea view was promised and not delivered. Hotel says they communicated to Expedia after I had booked that there was no sea view available. This was never communicated to me. I arrived at the hotel around 3.30pm and there was no one at the front desk for about 15 minutes. My room was clean, but in generally shabby condition (a lot of poorly done patch work around the room, especially in the bathroom).

Good location, terrible hotel.
Room wasn't what I paid for. Front desk didn't know how to work the AC. No safety deposit box in room, no 24-hour access to safety deposit boxes at desk. So bad that I wrote off my last night as a loss and stayed at Country Country which was fabulous

We will be back!
A wonderfully affordable, beach-front property is what you can expect. The 7 mile Coral Beach is an outstanding location. Our suite was clean and the staff was attentive. The locals are extremely friendly and helpful. Their resources are limited, but you won't need much more than your swim suit and some Red Stripes. :)

Nothing like the Beachcomber
I just got back from my 20th stay at the Beachcomber. We are not into the all inclusive thing since we love to interact with the locals and their culture. There is nothing like the apartments at the Beachcomber on Negril Beach. The hotel is steps from the beach and each apartment has a large balcony. They also have a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. If you are looking for the Ritz, this is not the place for you. If you like a laid back vacation, can put up with a few hotel flaws that come with non-hotel chain ownership, and want to be in the middle of one of the best beaches in the world, The Beachcomber is for you.

Horrible hotel beach is nice!
When I booked this trip on Expedia and reviewed what's included it said 3 meals and selective bar! When we checked in I was told to pay an extra $160/day! Nope I didn't so we ended up eating out at different places along the beach...room was not nice! Ants..cockroach...and at times we had no water!!!! They had no hair dryers and only one iron for the entire hotel!!! Overall we were really disappointed..there are a lot better hotels for the same price cause we checked it out!! Coco la palm was beautiful and cheaper!!! We are not fussy people but this place was ridiculous!!!

Location is good, close to the beach and restauran
the room was clean, but the hot water did not work, the shower did not work, the sink did not drain, the phone did not work. It took a long time (about 5 hours) for these to be fixed. It was not pleasant because we badly needed a shower, having come back from the sea. The staff were congenial. The food was average. The location was the best.

solemn beauty
It wasn't the most luxurious place I've ever been to, but the the price point was exceptional. The staff was warm and friendly and helped with anything that we asked for very warm. Maybe it was the season but it wasnt very busy which was a god send! Jamaica is a gorgeous friendly place, even with the natives being overly concerned with selling you everything under the sun. The moment when you respectfully declined it was all good. I couldn't have asked for a better place the sunsets are breathtaking.

Mixed review
Most of the staff were super friendly. For the first days we had almost no water pressure. There was no menu, only a buffet, and the food was poor at best, certainly not worth the price. The beach was beautiful but beware of people trying to sell drugs, many tried to sell us marajuana and other drugs. Our room was very clean. The grounds were beautiful with abundant flowers. Expect to pay $80 to get to Montego Bay, $250 to get to Mystic Mountain in US dollars from Negril (one way price).

Great Location - Horrible Bedding. Buy your own.
The bedding is yellowed and stained and pilled and the window and canopy curtains look like they came straight out of the 1970s.. gathering humidity and mildew just for you ! The staff seems pre-occupied with their own chatter between themselves. You are just interrupting "something", I don't know what to ask for a drink at the pool bar. My girlfriend and I sat there for a good 15 minutes once, never asked to be helped. Weird atmosphere. Like the owners are just running the place into the ground for some reason and don't care.

LOVED THIS HOTEL. Just make sure you check the room to ensure everyone is clean and functioning....but that's Jamaica. The staff is incredibly friendly and warm and will help you have the best stay possible. I can't wait to go back!

Gem in Negril
We started our stay at thr Ritz in MoBay. The Beachcomber is certainly not the Ritz. However, that is a good thing. The Ritz is nice, but it could be at ant beach. If you want the real flavor of Jamaica the Beachcomber is a classic "beach" hotel. The hotel could be updated and they are making an effort to do so. There is no better location. The owner Pat is great as well as the staff. If you love the beach it is the place to go.
